Flightscope X1 TBox
thought I would start a new thread in anticipation of Cory's review and get it out of the x2 thread.
Cory's PGA show video says the Unit directly measures;
Club head speed
Ball speed
Spin rate
Launch angle
if this is the case club head tracking is ....... . . .. . . . .
await the testing review Cory!

And spin rate is just total spin, when used with at metallic sticker. No spin axis measurements indoors. Cory's video suggests that the club does not get tracked, but it was only one swing.
How much do they want for a TBox setup? $10K? Too much money IMO.

What's everything? The rep in the video only mentioned a few ball measurements.

I am hoping for a big surprise, 6K is not much less than X2 without self level.
Club data, sidespin who knows.

just noticed the software in the video is Trugolf. The green figure at middle bottom is side spin- freeze video and it says............0. What a perfect shot, no sidespin
and yes, red number at bottom right is club path, another perfect 0.
blue number bottom second right is club face, another 0, this guys a good golfer.
bottom left deviation 3.4 left - now given all the previous 0's that is an imaculate conception.
Do we need to test this one or give them the benefit of the doubt? Perhaps they were waiting to copy the Z T's lookup tables.

Yes ZMax and I noticed this a well. Seems suspect for spin in that video. Need more info and a good testing indoors.

Hey Guys,
Just as an update, the TBox is still in its early stage so we are working with them on getting it right before I will release it (hence the 0 spin rate in the video). The way it is going right now, I anticipate having a review out near the end of March, but that may change to the end of April if necessary.
For anyone waiting for this system, I would highly recommend sitting tight or, if you just can't wait, then purchase a system that is currently out and tested.
Cheers,
Cory

Cory
Can you at least tell us what the Tbox is said to directly measure. Is it the same as post 1 which is taken from your video or for instance is sidespin or club path directly measured.
Do you have to tell it what club you are hitting?
This info will help with the decision to wait or not.

Found out today that the TBox will NOT measure club data. It will only measure BALL data at this time!! Not sure when or if club data will be available. They say they measure spin and use some algorythms to get that spin data? Not sure what that means. As well you need 12 feet to the screen and MUST mark the ball with reflective markers.

Hey Guys,
Just finished a diaper change and had a quick second so...
I am still working on getting the details staright. I don't think that this is like the Zelocity ordeal at all; however I do feel that they are still in the beta stages with this product and it is not ready for the public just yet.
Right now we are waiting to get the Flightscope software so that we can see if the data is the same in both software and then go from there.
Looks like this may be a slow process getting it to the point where they will be ready to market it (that is why they do not have it advertised on their website yet).
Cheers,
Cory

Spin data is currently one of the things we are working on, but we are also working on a few other details to really hone in on getting the most accurate results possible out of this

Hey All,
Still waiting for Flightscope to send me their main software - looks like the review will have to wait until after the PGA Calgary Show.
PS: If anyone is in Calgary and wants a free pass, just email me at cory@par2pro.com. I have a couple left and can leave them at the box office for you
Night,
Cory

Boy this looks like a great option for me since I was originally wanting something like a flightscope for simplicity in my house but did not have the length requirement.
Question to cory and not sure if he'll know this yet, but will flightscope also require the $1k annual software contract with these? Seems like a limiting factor for people like me who are not using the product to generate revenue, to have to pay $1k per year to use a product which we've already bought.

Real question is does it work. Cory has been testing it for months now and it has issues......
-
04-20-2012 12:22 AM #28
No, there will not be an annual fee, unless you want yearly support service.
Unfortunately I still have not got an answer back from Flightscope on why the sidespin reads 0 on almost every second shot. They sent me their main software to test it to see if it was an E6 communication thing, but I was not able to get the Tbox to communicate with the Flightscope software - it recognized it, but would not display any data. I am still waiting to hear back from Flightscope on a fix for this, until then, we are still in testing mode

Cory are they currently selling the Flightscope X1 TBox to consumers? My understanding is that one can purchase it right now. Would they not want to have all these kinks ironed out before unleashing this to the public?
-

Yup, they are selling it to consumers and other companies. This seems to be happening more often than not - releasing a product before it is bug-free. This is why I don't put anything on my storefront unless I have tested myself
