A little consistency will get Fally much lower. Every time we played he had 2 or 3 birdies and I averaged a little less than one per round last year (although my hdcp bubbled up to 10 at the end of the year as well . . . )
I think back to our first team match at Outaouais, Adam. I leaned on you hard the first 4 holes, then I was in a groove the rest of the round and returned the favour. I had 3 bad holes against John which was the only thing that kept me from being more competitive in that round and Ruskie and I had a brutal first match (I can safely say it was a bad round for Ruskie too considering our East vs. West match when we both played much better).

Just like my weight, I carry my handicap well.

    Goals:
    -Play lots of golf
    -Play more competitive golf

    -better swing tempo
-Take a little more time with shot routine ( I'm a quick golfer )

    Cheers

    - Play at least 5 competitive (entry fee) tournaments and contend at least once.
    - Win club championship (on paper this time)
    - Top 10 in OVGA tournament (I don't know how easy/hard this is, might have to adjust)
    - Handicap below 0
    - Work remotely during next winter to be able to play golf all year round
    - Make a goddamn eagle already!

This will be the best season yet, I can feel it. Snow needs to hurry up and melt.
If you want to make eagles, you have to hit the Big Dog of the tees on the par 5 not the chicken sticks!

    - Shoot consistently in the 70's
    - Bring handicap below 5 (currently 7)
    - Get a hole in one (so close last year!)
    - play as much golf as possible!

    Goals...

    1. Golf more. Lack of playing/practice hurt my game last year. I've toned back the other hobbies/activities to a more manageable level - now I just need to find the right work-golf balance

    2. Take less penalties. Penalties absolutely murdered my scores last year. A typical round would see me shoot in the mid/high 90's with between six and nine 'stroke and distance' type penalties. If I could eliminate those stupid, simple errors I'd be shooting in the low/mid 80's instead in a flash.

    3. Take some lessons before the season really gets underway, and perhaps a few over the course of the year to help me really and truly improve my game.

I'll probably take some heat for this but here they are:

    -Win Alexander of Tunis
-Top 5 in Kent and Quebec Am
    -Top 10 in Canadian Am
-Top 5 in my province for university golf (individual)
-Top 10 in the National University Championship in Victoria (individual)

Well after some thought about what I want to accomplish this year I've finally came up with a few things.

    -play more competitive/tournament golf rounds
-shoot better than my best tournament round at the Golftown National Amateur Series (85)
-lower my index by 3 points
-practice short game 70% (drive/wood/long irons 20% Mid irons 10%)
    and most of all
    -have fun while playing golf

Shoot 5 rounds in the 70s (only 3 in 2011)
Make 2 birdies per round (had 1.8-ish in 2011)
Finish the year at par or better on par 5's
Reliably hit a draw and fade instead of a hook and slice.
Finish in the finals of both the Team and Singles OG matchplay.
    1 eagle in 2012.
    So far...

    Handicap down to 8.2
    Made my one eagle
    2 rounds sub 80 (one sub 70)

Birdies need some work, shot shapes need some work, but happy with the year so far.

    Eagle!!!

I want to enjoy the game more.
I want to practice my short game more. Inside 50 yards my game is horrendous.
Play more and hurt less. I hurt my back in April 2011 at work and my game suffered and I suffered tremendously.
I have already done 2 months of pilates and core strength work to fix it.
I feel better physically than I have in years, should be a good season.
Well, I didn't have an Eagle as a goal but I got one today.
1st hole at Mont Cascade, playing the Blues 331 yards, par 4. Hit driver down the right side into the rough 241 yards. 90 yards left to the middle. Flag was middle back. Side hill lie, ball was above my feet. Hit an easy PW nice and high. A couple of bounces, then roll, then it disappeared and I said, "It may have gone in, it just disappeared."
We get to the green and no ball anywhere, I walk to the back of the green, no ball, I walk to the flag and look down. There is my ProV1 for an eagle!
It was a found ProV1 at that.
I am loving the KZG Evolution blades this year.

I forgot to write my goals down. Which are the same as last year (which I didn't accomplish)

    1) More rounds in the 90's then in the 100's. So far it's a 1-4 ratio, so I have some catching up to do.
    2) Shoot my low round. I can check that off already, beating last years 96 with a 93 last week at Anderson

and a new goal (probably just because I shot the 93) is have one round in the 80's. This one might be tough,

Have a few goals this year:

    1) Get down to scratch. Currently sitting at what I would say is about a 7 or 8 (don't actually track my handicap). Might be setting the bar a bit high here, but I think I can do it.

    2) Actually track my handicap haha.

    3) Work on my short game and putting. Generally, this is what kills my scores as I never practice either of them.

    4) Get better at shaping my shots at will. High, or low is no problem but I have trouble hitting a fade when I want to.

    5) Most important of all have fun and play as much golf as I can

Well for not even going to play this year, i sold my driver and fairway woods last fall, but wife talked me into playing this year and even went and bought me a new driver and woods in the spring.
Two goals were to play more rounds then last year which i did already played 208 rounds so far, last year 172 rounds.
Play some more new courses unfortunately only played 3 new courses.

Well, I'd have to cal lthis year a success, even if I fell short of my main goal. Last year I got fed up after a couple seasons fighting swing changes and my horrible long game, went back to old habits and abandonned the tee game for a bit. It was a good year, I needed to remind myself I can still play. This year I did about as well as last, except I did it engaging the driver and trying to make the swing I'm after. All in all I'd have to call that a success.

I made big strides with the driver, my first two eagles, learned how to play from the bunker (this is big news for me) and generally played bad but still came close to having one of the best seasons ever lol. I also managed to tie or beat just about every personal best long drive on my home course. And to top it all off, I put it on the green a few days ago from the dreaded side hill lie 150 yards out on the left side of the 13th at Champlain. Some of you will know of what I speak.

Yep, good year, next year the cap has to come down though, I want to shave off 5 strokes. I'm right at that spot with the good game where it's not how may pars I make, it's how many I don't, so even if I'm playing well the pressure alone is tough enough. the last challenge of the year will be to finish out the HC season without ballooning my index too much.

My goal would be to have my HC drop from 20.0 to less than 15. My last two rounds last year were in the low 80's (84&87, but didn't count due it being November); so I should be capable.

I also want to play more this year than last year (48 posted plus perhaps 10 give up rounds)to take full advantage of my Greensmere membership. I will have to put a rush on finishing my year and a half house renovations.
    Failed on all counts.

The Haimes lessons were a disaster for me and it took till October to get them out of my swing. After telling my instructor I didn't want to change much of my swing he tried to change everything. (The lessons did work for my wife - her cap went down by 10 - which is how much higher mine peaked; so it's not the instructor). Part of the problem was I couldn't take advantage of my driving range membership as I developed cataracts especially in my left eye. By the time I had my right eye up the ball would be gone and I couldn't track it.

I was playing so poorly after the lessons I forfeited my singles match play first round match and really pulled back from golf until September. Didn't play any of my club championships or tounaments.

I did find my old S&T swing back, I finished the year with two rounds in the low/mid 80's. I still can't practice on a range; (Surgery tentative for June 2013) but did recently buy a new Optishot so hopefully will be able to keep this swing feel till next year. (House reno involved 10 ft ceilings)

After 30 years of golf I never set goals at the start of the season.

I did manage to maintain a 9 index on a tough golf course.

I did manage to play a 170 rounds.

I made 7 or 8 eagles, and came damn close to a couple of holes in one. (close but no cigars )

I did have a lot of fun playing golf this year. I played rounds with every age group from 20 year old's up to 70 + year old men and women.

I did manage to play golf in every month except January. And those rounds were all in south west Ontario. No Florida trips.

I am looking forward to 2013. There is a new bunker on one of the par 3's at my course which will be interesting. Lots of trees coming down to provide air flow and sunlight to some greens we had heat issues with this past summer (you just can't grow good grass when the temperature an inch below the putting surface is 44 C at 11 AM in July) Plus the tree removal will open up some awesome views of holes on my course.

Merry Christmas to all and a Happy New Year too.
My opinions are my own, I do not follow others.

Prety darn good Lyle. I can only dream of playing that well in the future. I'm sure you will achieve your 2013 goal.
