Favourite Apple???
A totally random thread, I know.
I've always been a Red Delicious kind of guy. Sometimes Granny Smith's. Today I had a Honey Crisp apple. Probably the best apple I've ever had. I'm not one for fruits and veggies, but when I find something I like, I'll eat lots of them."A life lived in fear of the new and the untried is not a life lived to its fullest." M.Pare 10/09/08

Yeah honey crisps are excellent. Fairly new variety too if I remember correctly. Having grown up on an apple orchard, there was nothing better to me than a fresh Cortland off the tree. We didn't have honey crisps mind you.

Honeycrisp by far followed by Fuji.

Obviously you're not a golfer.

Macintosh? You can't be serious. That's like saying on this forum your favorite sport is golf! Lol, Macintosh.

MacIntosh...
If you think it's hard to meet new people, try picking up the wrong golf ball.

The nice thing about the Gala's are that they stay crisp a lot longer than other apples and seem to be less susceptible to bruising.

The key is to know how to pick them. When you give the a squeeze they should feel like a hard ball.

wow, looked up apple cultivars on wikipedia, tons of info there. Apparently, there is a successor to the honeycrisp called the SweeTango also from the University of Minnesota in 2009.
Who would have thought there were so many varieties?Andrew

The honeycrisp is very very tough to beat, try the Fuji, it's a very crisp apple too.
