Hey all,

'tis true, last year we just showed up with the trailer and the club president (at least i think thats who it was, kinda foggy memory) granted us permission to go ahead and park the trailer where we did, it was on his parents (or in-laws) property, adjacent to the parking lot. i will be dropping in on him when the course opens to see if it is alright to do so again, as it was a perfect setup, as fas as i am concerned, we didn't damage the property where we stayed, probably left it cleaner than when we got there, so hopefully no issues... the travel time to the course was also very convenient

awesome venue & excellent service all around from TW, very much looking forward to going again this year!

I got the okay via e-mail from the course to park my trailer in a field near the golf course, they likely mean the same field, if you don't mind having neighbours, we might do the same. Was there a fire pit by any chance last year?? ahaha

Okay, well that scraps the camping in the field plan, I have a shower in my camper, but i don't think I can store water for more than 5-6 showers... so 3 guys playing too much golf, we will definitely need more showers than that!!

Thats the only thing I have a concern with camping. Where to shower??? BBR has a great facility but TW has nothing.

Charles just posted on TGN that a block of rooms were made available at the Holiday Inn Express. That is where most of us stayed last year. It's pricey, but the rooms are good, and the location us great.

Actually, there is a shower there, we didn't use it (there is one in the trailer), but my wife did when she came down for the night saturday (they had to clear all the stuff they were storing in that area out, but again, they went out of their way again to help). That being said, if it is unavailable this year, i am sure one of the lads coming down would let you use the shower in their room if you asked...)

they didn't have a fire pit designated per se, but we do have a portable fire pit that we bring with us... along with the BBQ, fridge, water cooler, big screen TV ( no, we don't hook up a PS3...lol) and all the other stuff you need to rough it for a couple of days...

Yeah, i also have a bbq hooked up to the trailer, medium screened tv, fridge, cooler, etc.
Let me know if you decide to camp there again and we will likely join you. I scoped out a camp ground about 5km away also, so I am on the fence right now. I could bring the PS3 but since were camping in an open field it might be wise to conserve battery power, lol!

*** Friendly Reminder - Make sure you track your handicap, either on Ottawa Golf or RCGA or another approved Handicap tracker. If you are like me and used to track it in your iPhone, then make the effort and just track it here as well.

We will not accept approximate handicaps this year. It is frustrating for everyone to play against or with people that have "approximate" handicaps!!!

I would reccomend calling either Greg or Stephan and get it straightened out ahead of tie especially if there is more than one. They are stand up guys and have generally gone out of their way to accomodate us but lets be courteous and give them as much warning as possible.

We will sort it out well ahead of time, don't worry!! I am still considering the campground close by, just in case it's really warm that weekend, i want to be able to plug in and run the AC. I will be closer to making a decision once the trailer isn't buried in white crap!

I was thinking that we should have a team get together before the tournament in June. Play 9 or 18 holes somewhere and then head out for drinks and something to eat? What do you guys think?
