My singles play if I recall is 2-3.

The match Will and I played was a game of attrition as both of us were exhausted just trying to get the event to actually happen. It could have gone 6 and 7 either way or anyway in between. In stroke play I think he would have beaten me 96 to 99. And that's with some 6 foot gimmies. Just plain ugly. I try and forget that game for both of our benefit.

The captains play traditionally on both sides in Sunday singles have generally not been stellar.

Ah yes , i remember the day well . Quite possibly some of the most epic shots i've seen in matchplay to date.
Starting off with Charles conceding the 1st hole to me, before i'd hit my second shot , then later, myself missing my chance to close the match out on 16 , after my opponent had driven his first shot OB , i proceeded to duff my way up the fairway and took an 8 .
Then finally closing my match out on 18 after my opponent gave the win to me by hitting another 2 OB .

One thing is for certain, it was brilliant fun ,and i'd play with Charles anytime.

I deleted the bad memories from your post and will add one from the par 5 12th. We'd both hacked our way through the hole. I'm standing off in the mounds to the right of the green. You dropped a 60 yard wedge into the pond left. You asked me how am I standing. I say I'm lying 8. You start counting on your fingers then stopped: "the hole is yours."

...One thing is for certain, it was brilliant fun ,and i'd play with Charles anytime.

We will take out turns being DD for the friday team dinner and outing and then the saturday outing. If anyone else is interested in camping, let me know!

One of the Toronto boys just pointed out that it is difficult to book rooms in Belleville for the Ryder Cup weekend. Apparently, there is a conference in the area that weekend. I just booked my room. There are not many rooms left. GET YOUR ROOM BOOKED NOW!!!!!
