Best drills for teaching 1) moveaway, 2) transition

specifically looking at your best drills you have used for a) move away, and b) transition from top to impact.

drill - what it helped with

    I'll make this quick.

    A) Work in front of a mirror on a connected take away. Only take the club back to about hip level and check your position. The toe of the club should point straight up, the shaft parallel to the ground, and the butt of the grip at the target. With these 3 checkpoints, you should not be too far inside or outside plane. I find with these drills it helps to swing ridiculously slow, like when you think your going way too slow, go slower!. Engrain the feeling in your mind.

B)Swing normal to the top, and stop. Wait and feel that position. Start the downswing with you hips. Some may say left leg, so start it with whatever works for you. YOu want to feel you body pull your right arm into your side and you begin the turn. You can do this while hitting balls, but don't expect to make perfect connection every time, its all about feeling where you are at the top, and the start of teh move back to the ball.

I know they are not flashy drills, with devices, but they are good check-points and should help you with those two moves. By, the way you can google thousands of drills for this type of thing, so you just have to find the one that works for you.

    Cheers,

    RP
