    Elin Nordegren demolishes $12M mansion

    Tiger Woods' former wife, Elin Nordegren, has had her $12 million mansion in North Palm Beach, Fla., demolished and plans to build another home at the same location, TMZ reports.

    And now, here's the rest of the story:
    The house was purchased with the intention of restoring or rebuilding due to structural issues, including but not limited to, termites. It was purchased solely for the value of the property. While Elin originally hoped to restore the house, which was built in 1932, it was determined that it would in fact be much less expensive to tear down the existing structure and build a new one than to do all the internal modifications and rebuilding required to solve the structural issues and bring the house up to current Florida hurricane codes.
    In the demolition Elin donated over $300,000 of materials (appliances, copper wire etc.) to the local Habitat for Humanity organization.
