    Regular Shoes?

    What is with the trend this year of some PGA players (Couples, Singh etc.) going with the soft rubber-soled shoes instead of soft spikes?
    It seems to me that regular shoes wouldn't offer much stability. What is their reasoning?

    In those two cases (Couples and Singh), I think it was because the shoes were more forgiving on their bad backs. That said, with the balance and tempo the pros have, they could wear clown shoes and bomb it.
