    Cool. I'll be home Wednesday. According to the instructions, we just have to forward a set of ports on our router.

    How are we going to communicate during the game? I don't have skype setup nor a wireless headset.

    I wonder if we can press a key and type messages to the other players like in Links LS.

    Do you wait for each players shot in the order they should play or is it everyone at once until the holes done like tiger woods online.

    You will have to wait. The other players will show as animated characters hitting the ball. It's really fun to watch.

    I assume only protee players can do this and it's an online area hosted by protee? It sounds great!

    So it's just like playing against the computer. How does it know when we start our backswing, or when to start the animation? Weird.

    Anyways that would be cool both ways. I liked the everyone at once game play. You see their tracers flying around the course as you play your shot. Kinda neat.

    Yes RDH. There is a lobby (similar to Links LS) in the ProTee Game Play interface. So you can set up or join a game in the lobby. You can also chat there. However, I have yet to try it.

    Did you get the ProTee, Goatbarn?

    Just tried the Protee online play. It's very cool! As JJSmith said, you see the other player as an animated character. I wonder if there's a way to have it show different characters to the other players or is it just one character?

    New interface will have an option to put limits on face angle and club path. You can set them in 1 deg increments. This will help take care of those rare 20-29* outside-in readings. It can also help make the sim more enjoyable for beginner golfers. i.e a limit of 7* for the face and 10* for the club path will still make the sim accurate for decent golfers, while at the same time, keeping it fun for high handicaps and beginners.

    If you feel that you sensor mat's club path readings tend to be on the outside-in or inside-out even when you take a nice slow straight swing, there is an adjustment in the settings file to correct for this. You should only need to correct for +/-1*. Maybe +/-2* at most. Don't go crazy and turn your slice into a draw.

    Here's an example to correct for a 1 deg outside-in sensor mat:
    Club_path_correction_Driver=-1
    Club_path_correction_Wood=-1
    Club_path_correction_Iron=-1
    Club_path_correction_Wedge=-1

    And finally, angle of attack will soon be available. It's derived from LA and club loft.

    I would like to see more accurate adjustments for the different surfaces in the Red Chain software. For example, when you play a course with light, medium and heavy rough one would expect different penalties. It seems from my experience, the software in its current state treats all rough the same. Personally, I would like to be penalized more for being in heavy rough or long grass versus light rough.

    The problem is the lack of consistency with the courses. Some that have long grass will show long grass while others will just say thick rough or heavy rough. It really depends on the lie information on a particular course, but the Protee interface can definitely improved on this.

    We already have penalty for rough and heavy rough. So, we need penalty for maybe first cut/light rough, medium rough, and long grass?

    Anything else? Anybody recall which course has medium rough? light rough?

    You guys are correct. If we come up with the list of which courses have what descriptions and send it to ProTee, they can put in on their interface. The problem is that all the courses are labelled and developed independently.

    I know about the different surface textures.

    Kingsbarn is a course that has light, medium and heavy rough. Even with my slider set to 30% penalty for heavy rough it didn't affect the shot anymore than my 10% regular rough penalty in the heavy rough. The bunkers all work well now but the other surfaces need some work. It is difficult when coming across a new surface (ie. scrub, waste, etc) to know what penalty will be incurred. I guess that is what mulligans are there for.

    How did the GSA simulator handle these surfaces, Zmax? Was it the same deal?

    Sorry if I am too picky.

    With GSA, you only had rough and bunker. That's it.

    We should keep a list of the different types of rough in general and let ProTee know the types so they can add these to the interface.

    I guess we should be happy with what we have with ProTee, then.

    I putt from the fringe to Libbing. However, I am sure some like to chip with an iron from the fringe.

    Just wondering why we can't remove the flag from the hole when on the green? I can remove it from anywhere off the green but not when on the green. I thought that was a normal thing to do.

    New interface features(soon):

    1] Player and club settings.

    This will allow us to control the club selection and auto caddy from the interface. For now the settings under default are used. 2 new .pgs are created. Red Chain still has to add this to the game. They need to fix the one small internet bug first before they can do this(almost done).

    2] Option to strictly use the H-cam for ball path. This will completely ignore the ball track readings for ball path, which will improve the accuracy for shanks.

    3] LA limits for the V-cam have been increased.

    Teebox

    This is more of a GSA want but I would like the ability to move the ball horizontally on the teebox. There are a few holes where the trees seem to be in the way of a good drive from the default tee area. I sent a request to ProTee but didn't get a response.
