Gyro Mouse versus palm keyboard with trackball.

Just wondering if anyone has a preference for one of these devices for use with the GSA software and the reason why.

I have the Gyro Mouse and it is great. Selecting the clubs or changing the direction of aim on the sim is easy with it. I suspect the palm keyboard is great as well. With my setup, having to select the club is a complete non issue. Couple that with the voice commands it is even better. As well with my setup, I have the club rack right nest to the computer so as you physically get your club from the bag you are at the computer to change the aim, select clubs etc. I would however recommend the Gyro mouse.

Was wondering how that remote was working for you. I still need to order one and now that the shop is getting cleared enough to set up propper, and the P3Pro is working a bit better, now might be the time.

I like it so much I'm going to order another one for the family room HTPC. $43 on Ebay. What a deal.

    psace,

I have a wireless keyboard with trackball and I hate it. Trackballs by nature are slow and not precise. They also tend to get dirty. Dust will tend to collect inside affecting the optical sensors.

The air mouse remotes are much faster and more accurate.

There are other sellers that will ship world wide for free.

    here's one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/2-4GHz-2-4G-...367f1e123#shId

It's a Chinese seller so it might take a while to receive it.

The Protee only cost you around a thousand dollars right? What's another $40?

That was a joke about how we tell our wives that the total cost of our sims are just about $1000 or so. That's what I told mine anyway.

Yes, Zmax. I think we all adjusted our costs to the wives, just like they do when they go dress shopping.

Zmax, do you use regular batteries in the fly mouse or rechargeable? I am finding the duracel batteries die in about 24 hours while in the air mouse.

I use regular batteries. I play 4-5 rounds a week on the sim. I change my batteries every two months. You got the same fly mouse?

Yeah, I got the same flymouse but batteries die overnight if left in the mouse. Must be defective, I guess.

Does the blue light flash on and off all the time? On mine, when the batteries are low, it will start to flash. Sounds like your's is definitely defective.

No, the blue light comes on when I press the power button but goes off again after I release that button. It has never flashed that I have noticed. How do you turn it off and on anyways? The instructions are the pitts. I am going to try rechargeable duracel batteries. At least that way I won't waste as much moola on batteries.

You don't turn it on or off. Once you press a button, it starts to communicate with the computer.

The power button might be for powering off the computer if you hold it down. Not really sure.

When you press any button, the blue light should come on. Off when you release it. Has it been like this since you got it? How many batteries have you gone through?

The flymouse works as you described, Zmax. I have gone through 4 sets of batteries already. I use it one day then the next time I use it, the blue light won't even come on and the batteries test shows weak batteries. The rechargeable ones will save me a ton of money.

Why not just take one battery out when you're done playing? Or just buy another one since they're so cheap.

My flymouse the blue light comes on when it's sending a signal, and thats it. The power button I use to turn my computer on/off.

Maybe you're leaving the mouse on by double tapping the mouse button? I could see that draining the battery a bunch.

Thanks for the advice. It is not worth returning so I will probably just remove the battery after each use.

For all those wondering about an air mouse. If you have an IPod, get the air mouse pro app. It works like a charm for all your computer and media applications and only costs $3.99.
