    comparing distance

Leaving for Tucson next week end for a golf trip and I would like to know the Arizona's climate effect vs ours on a golf ball to travel when hit. Thanks

I don't know if its just the climate, or the high pressure, or the firm fairways, but I hit the longest drives of my life in Phoenix. I am not a long ball hitter, but I was getting lots of balls bouncing and rolling to the 300 mark, and a few well beyond that. I don't know if there is a formula you can apply, but for me it was more than a club less.

If you hit the sweet spot on anything you will definitly get a lot more distance. I played Antelope Hills 3 years ago and hit a drive well over 300 yd---most were not as far but for someone that usually hits 215 with a 3 wood. I was astonished !!!!

BTW---watch out for the road runners
    Does the 2nd hole-n-one come easier ?

Looking for balls in bushes definately takes on a whole different feeling if there is the possibility of disturbing a rattlesnake.

I miss it there, have a great time.

I just returned from Scottsdale and I don't believe your ball will travel any farther than it does in Ottawa. Believe it or not, it is too cold for rattlesnakes to be out. I did see a few coyotes at Wildfire (Faldo) following my group. We saw the Canadiens beat the Coyotes in overtime and the Cardinals win in overtime against the Rams on a punt return. The courses over-seed in October and your ball won't roll very far. We golfed Wildfire (Palmer) on Thursday and it was the first day open after seeding.
