    When comparing US vs. local service levels, you have to take into account the tipping customs in each country. When was the last time you tipped the bag boys at the Marshes, or the shuttle girls at Loch March? In the states a tip is expected, that's why they can hire so many people for next to nothing - they make their living off of tips.

    this is true. And as a Canadian it drives me nuts.

    Bingo. I personally don't want so many $2 services as I make my way to and from my car. Kinda feels like driving by the squeegie kids.

    -good course conditions
    -nice practice area (range, short game, putting green)
    -pace of play enforced
    -marshals/cart girls NOT driving by while you're playing
