Where to buy driving gloves in Ottawa?
Looking for nice thin quality leather driving gloves. Not winter gloves. I don't want to buy on-line as fit and comfort are important.
Anyone know where to look? I am coming up blank.Life dinnae come wit gimmies so yuv got nae chance o' gitt'n any from me.

Holt Renfrew or Harry Rosen come to mind.
Not fat anymore. Need to get better at golf now!

Thanks jv I looked at both websites - no examples of gloves at the Holt Renfrew site and Harry Rosen 's were nice, but all winter gloves. Pretty expensive at $135 a pair.
This is the kind I am looking for. Similar gloves on ebay for $50 a pair, which is on par with the price of 2 cabretta leather golf gloves. I hope I can find such a thing locally.

They might only have them in store. I have a pair that I picked up many years ago at Eaton's IIRC so I'd be surprised if neither of those stores carries them.

i'd take a look at The Bay as well, might be an odd time of year to find non winter driving gloves though.

I was thinking of checking out The Bay. I just want to avoid going from store to store....

How about at a "high end" car place... Jag, BMW, Cadi, Audi...

You'd think the least they could do is throw them for the price they charge for their cars?

If you wanna drive with gloves you should call Tommy two gloves Gainey

As they say "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder" BUT, seems to me you can get some pretty nice golf gloves, in black, that look as nice as the ones in your photo... IMHO... plus when you get out of your Jag at the Royal Ottawa G&CC you won't have to change gloves.

I drive a Mustang and play at Manderley so my standards are a tad lower than that.
To be honest this isn't for driving my car, but for online racing. My new wheel is a bit slippery.
I am using my cold weather golf gloves for now because I have both L&R. I may settle for golf gloves, but I think nice driving gloves would be more comfortable for the same money.Life dinnae come wit gimmies so yuv got nae chance o' gitt'n any from me.

wow, Dan, I didn't know you were a serious online car racing gamer? What are you playing that you need golves? Are you gettinga serious sweat-adreneline thing going? I know I get pretty into my online games (Gears 3 and Halo Reach) I have worn the little bumps on the thumbsticks of a few controllers smooth.

I'm betting Dan has a full on racing cockpit in the basement.

iRacing.com It's a racing simulator not a game. PC only, no console port. No AI at all. It's all online racing. All tracks are laser scanned and car models / physics are second to none. Many pro racers use it to learn tracks. Yah it's kinda hard core but there are virtually no issues with people joining races to wreck the field. It's a "drive it like you own it" mentality. Good clean racing. Yes it is very immersive. Great pucker factor.

I'm more a fan of the Grand Theft Auto style of racing games, where there are guns involved. however I did enjoy the Grand Turismo games on PS, PS2 and PS3. I just downloaded the demo for Forza 4 also, but I would still say the racing experience is very far from realistic.
That iRacing looks really cool.Andrew

No guns for me. Going through Eau Rouge at Spa at 200kph in traffic requires all of my focus!
Here's a clip of racing through Eau Rouge - not me driving

Here's a new iRacing video. The maker used music from BF3.
