Greensmere Survivor Challenge
What kind of scores normally win this thing?

Jordan,
I believe Koskie and McGee usually win this thing, so you probably have to go real low!Proud member of the 2009 Ryder Cup winning team

Koskie and McGee are certainly big guns.
Last year mjf and I finished 4th or 5th overall and won some money! I think the summary is in last years thread. We could have done better but we left some strokes on the course in the scramble. Both of us missed an 18" birdie putt on our last hole. Doh!
The real key is to score well in the other three formats. If you can be under par in the best ball/chapman/alternate shot then you've got a good chance.
Unfortunately I will be out of town for this year's event. Not fat anymore. Need to get better at golf now!

If you look at the bottom of this page, you'll find the Greensmere survivor challenge thread from 2010, and post #17 has the answer you're looking for.

-19 good lord that's ridiculous. Judging by the way Jvincent performed on Sat aft in our singles match you and MJF should go way lower than -7.

It is. I'd be curious to know how many eagles they made. I know there was one for sure as I remember hearing the roar. I also remember that they had almost driven that particular par 4 green and chipped in for the eagle. Very good and lucky to boot. That's a tough combination to beat.

Not sure if that's a compliment or a comment on the two spectacularly bad holes I had on Sat.
We really should have been lower in the scramble. Strictly speaking I think you want to be at least -6 for the scramble. After that you want to make up ground in the best ball and chapman since you've got two balls in play for those holes.
The key, IMHO, is to not tank in the alternate shot. Not fat anymore. Need to get better at golf now!

We certainly should have been one shot... er... one putt better.

Fabulous!
Well... there's always the $25,000 hole in one prize. Hmmm... if I make an ace, do I need to share the prize with my partner?

I think you are asking for trouble there Dwight!. I played with both of them on the weekend and it's scary to say the least. But then again I haven't played with you since the "rain check" at Renfew many moons ago. I have heard you are the hottest player in town lately, but with a partner... i don't know man....we'll see. Give them a run for their money, please. I love Al and Kyle too.

Anyway guys, Al and Koskie are tough to beat as a team howver this tournament is good because they spread the prizes around and usually if you play descent on 1 nine you get a prize. Usually they pay top 4-5 in each nine holes, plus skins. Have fun its a great day, also what helped this event is having a senior division.

Enjoy Kohler.
