    iPhone Apps - Range Finder

    Hi Everyone,

I just purchased an iPhone and I am wondering what the best iPhone range finder apps are for playing courses in the Ottawa area?

I play most of my golf at:
    Canadian
    Greensmere
    Cedarhill
    Stonebridge

If you could please let me know the best iPhone range finder apps for playing these courses it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

No just a rangefinder. Point at the flag at the range and get the distance to it. Don't trust their markings

Cant be done, the phone would require a laser to be able to hit the flag to give a reading.

SkyCaddie mapped out the range at Greensmere. It's listed as hole #D and seems accurate. Don't know about the other courses. I believe they have an app for Iphone as well where you use their data and your equipment. Don't know the cost, though.

I use the GolfLogix app for iPhone. If you just want yardages to the middle of the green, you can get that free. But its completely worth the $20/year (or so) for full yardages (front/middle/back of green, points of interest, layups, hazards, etc) and stats tracking. I did a quick check and all the courses you listed are on there.

In my experience it is accurate is to within a couple of yards of the fancy, expensive laser range finders and comparable to dedicated GPS units.

If you are looking for a golf gps app go to android market. Skydroid works on both platforms and costs a one time fee of $1.99. Downside is that these apps are hard on the battery so make sure you have a full charge before hitting the course.
