Black oxide Scotty Cameron
I want to turn my putter black. The SC custom shop doesn't do it and doesn't recommend it. Should I send it to the custom shop first to have it looking like new and then go with a third party to oxide it black, or do the oxide first and then send it to the shop for finishing touches?
Look how hot this looks:

I'd avoid the cameron shop - I think there are cheaper options out there - unless your putter is worth something, go with a 3rd party

never used them but heard good things.I got a fever. And the only prescription is more golf equipment.

I don't believe the Custom Shop will touch the putter if it has been finished by another party.
I would also be hesitant in using third parties to alter putters. I find it rather hard to believe that they can "enhance" the putters that easily without throwing anything off.

Have you ever played with the teflon finish? You may want to make sure that the response you get with that finish is one that you like before getting it done. I would be curious to see just how "muted" the putter becomes. Strange to see someone with a Beached putter and then have a finish that mutes the putter. Somewhat counter productive.

When I called them they said that they recommend to not have the polymer finish on the face because it may not wear as well. They said they would recommend leaving the face raw after removing the original paint layer. I like the idea of the raw titanium. I saw pictures of putter like mine last year online and the raw titanium ia a flat grey. So I would be ok with that grey raw look on the face but I might get them to put the black polymer finish on the face anyway. Yes that is something to think about as to whether or not the finish will affect the feel of your putting.
Obviously you're not a golfer.

That's the rumor...apparently there will be two new lines. The California Series that will not have the honey dip that the previous line did, however it will be deep milled - which is supposed to come out in November I believe (This is not a rumor, it's been confirmed). The other rumor is that he will be releasing, as Gropper said, another line next year with the black finish on the putters.

They weren't displayed on the putter racks yet...i spotted them in a Titty cart bag near the sims...tried one of them on the putting green...nice! Glad they changed the look of the headcover as i never liked the original studio select cover...the new black dots on black looks great.

Looks cool! I'd like to get the white or Tuxedo on my Scotty. Only thing is if you don't get it on the face too then it would look kind of silly and the face would be left raw which would then rust. You can get Black Ox too but it will wear off eventually. Might be a good winter project depending on the Shipping. Prob still be close to $2oo for white, block ox face and shipping.
