Nothing wrong with playing a harder ball. As your golfer friend points out, he gets a consistent behaviour from it that allows him to score well.
This is why I generally play one type/model of ball.
This is also why I hate the ProV1. I have too many cases of the ProV1 spinning back too far. I rarely if ever see this with the other high end balls I try like the Z-Star.Not fat anymore. Need to get better at golf now!
