Any else notice it is harder to arrange a game this year?
In the past years, it seems like the arrange a game forum posts would get replies almost all the time. It was never hard to find someone to play with.
This year I am noticing a lot of posted arrange a game threads, with no replies.
What gives? Are people playing less?

I have become a lot more involved with the club I belong to, I've only golfed at one other course once (before mine opened)
I haven't even played a single round with my good 'ole golf buddy Hoolio, who, judging by his recent clubsg scoring run, is ripe for a beating.Andrew

I'm usually up for a round Reza! But I do agree, not as many people interested in arranging games as last year.
Just another lefty....

This one's for jvincent...
It's the cost of gas...
I usually don't know if I'm playing or not until a day or two before. The only rounds I have actually planned this summer have been my matches.Twitter: @Scott_Fally

I agree Reza! I think it just has to do with timing. But I think the board has changed and many people are reluctant to play with people they don't know.

I have my 8 year old who now wants me to take him, and I am barely able to make time for that. I do recall playing a lot of fun games with forum members, though. Its just time and priorities. I miss my Belleville crew.

I am playing less this year for one and not playing outside of our course as much. Only been out a few times with some fellow OGers. I hope to join a few of you later on in the season when things settle down.

I would be into playing with some OGer's, just a matter of this work thing that gets in the way.
Work is for chumps!Obviously you're not a golfer.

As a relatively new member to the forum and becoming a little more active online within it, I would suggest that it might be a good practice for those looking for a game to identify a little about themselves and the type of round that they like to play. For example, I would indicate that I am a 14/15 handicap, like to play in the afternoons on weekends, could care less where and play a relaxed game where, if you want to hit 2-3 balls to the green for practice if no one is pushing - fill your boots! Non- competitive - life's too short! lol
I just think that letting people know how you like to play may breakdown some of the perception barriers that some of us have when guys are hunting down some games. I am sure that if I joined in to a really competitive group of guys with 2-3 handicaps, I'd simply drive them nuts and it would not be much fun for any one of us. Just a thought...."If profanity had any influence on the flight of the ball, the game of golf would be a lot easier than it is" - Horace Hutchinson (1903)
