    True Temper Shaft Lab

Have anybody tried the True Temper Shaft Lab? (http://www.truetemper.com/ShaftLab/index2.html)

I believe the ProGolf at Hampton Park has one and will do a shaft fitting for about $30. Any advice on whether it is worth it?

    Results may surprise you

I have done this at Pro Golf and it is very worthwhile for anyone thinking about buying new irons or a driver or getting your clubs reshafted.

It takes about 20 minutes but provides as really detailed report on your 5 iron and driver swing profiles including graphs, charts and specific shaft recommendations.

My results were not what I expected (I think this is generally true for most people who do it). I am fairly long of the tee (260+) and my driver club head speed is consistently between 113-118 mph yet the shaft lab recommends regular shafts for both irons and driver for me.

The measurements are based on how you load and unload the shafts during your swing not strictly on club head speed.

    Try it out.

Do they give information that could easily be transferred to other shafts? For example, will they only recommend True Temper shafts? I use, and will get more, Rifle shafts and would like a good analysis, there are so many sub-flexes to choose from. That's the thing about TTDGs: R is too soft, S is too stiff.

    Recommendations

They only recommend True Temper and Grafalloy shafts by name but they give you info on shaft deflection, clubhead droop, clubhead lead, downswing time, face angle etc. that you can use to pick any shaft.

It recommended regular shafts for my irons, I went with Rifle 6.0. I have a stock Callaway firm shaft in my VFT which I'm thinking about changing to a BiMatrx
