Grounding club
QUESTION, if your in a grass hazard to what extent is your club considered grounding. if there is alot of grass you would have to i believe be touching ground before you incur a penalty. if there is alot of grass you almost can't groung your club, is this correct.

My question to you is it a hazard or just long grass? Just make sure you're not improving your lie and if in a hazard make sure that you aren't touching any loose impediments before you start the forward motion of your stroke.

What is a 'grass hazard'? The rules don't mention them.

Mike, it doesn't necessarily have to contain water to be a Water Hazard. Is it designated as a wetland?
When applying the Rules, you follow them line by line. You don't read between them.

There are times when you are in a lateral hazard that indeed has water that the margin of the hazard is outside the water proper. In that case as long as the club does not touch the ground before the stroke, The grass blades is not ground they can be touched prior to the stroke.
