what a difference a fitting session can make!
After nearly 10 months of my swing being in the absolute dumps, I have started to hit the ball better starting a month ago.
But, although I was swinging well, and was getting consistent again, my drives were still abnormally short. My swing speed is in the 92-96 MPH range and I use a 7i for 160 yard shot. But the driver only went 200-220.
So I went to Kevin Haime golf center when Gregg Foley put me on the trackman. Results showed that although my swing was rather repeatable, I was putting too much spin on the ball. Next, he had me hit the Titleist 910 D3, with a couple of different shafts. Immediately the spin went down approximately 1000 rpm and my distance increased.
I ended up buying a 9.5 degree 910 D3 with a stiff project X and have not looked back. I am now 20-30 yards longer and could not be happier.
Just goes to show you what a good launch monitor session with a good fitter can do for you.Last edited by rezadue; 07-05-2011 at 06:27 AM.

Rezza, I think I could benefit from a fitting on a launch monitor also as I have the same problem as you.I struggle to get the ball over 200 yrds with a driver.
I will give them a call today and find out.

That is too funny. Same problem here, 4 hybrid off the tee typically 180-200, 3 wood or driver off the tee when straight, 200-215, but normally sliced well off the beaten track. I suck off the tee. Kills my entire game when you know a 6 on a par 5 is a good score.

I can attest to Reza's gain in yardage. He used to be 20-30 yards shorter than me - now he's right up there with me - 230-240.
I got a fever. And the only prescription is more golf equipment.

Driver fittings really work. I saw Don at Artisan who also uses a trackman. He put a shorter more flexible shaft in my driver and my driving has improved beyond all recognition. Longer, straighter, wayyyyyy more consistant and all with an easy swing.
As rezza said...just goes to show what a difference a good fitting can make

Greg fitted me for a driver/woods last year, I'm amazed at how well I hit the Cobra line.
