Who's next?
Ok, this is not a rules question, but is an etiquette question.
A funny situation happened today. My son and I were playing the whites, and my wife was playing the reds. I teed off first, and sent my ball well into the fairway. Then my son teed up and topped it and it rolled only a few feet, well behind the red tees (yes, he was a bit upset ). Question is: if you want to follow proper etiquette, who hits the next shot: my son playing his 2nd, or my wife playing her tee shot? Of course, the answer is not that important since it was all in the family (my wife teed off first), but I was wondering if we had been paired up with strangers, what should have been the proper way to proceed? Is the Pope catholic? Does a bear crap in the woods? Does Ricky Fowler wear orange on finals Sunday?

Son playing his 2nd. He's away. Does he know the "somewhat traditional local rule" about not passing the ladies tee?

The man who can't get past the ladies tee is to play the hole with his manood on display outside his trousers. Not often enforced, but often mentioned.

So what would happen if I teed off and my ball hit a tree and landed behind the tee box (ie further from the hole). It was my understanding that my FCs would tee off before I played my second shot (but I may well be wrong..I often am ). This actually happened to David Feherty in his first ever European Tour event and he was paired with Seve.

Your son should have waited. Your wife had not teed off so did not have a ball in play. Therefore your son was not further from the hole.

the other 'unwritten' rule that we play by is: he who does not hit past the ladies/forward tees has to buy a round of drinks !!
more satisfying than seeing my bud's manhood !!!if i could only putt !!
