Projecting image through a golf net

I was wondering if anyone has used a projector to produce an image through a white mesh net? If so, does this affect the image with shadows or cause enough distortion to be distracting?

Simple answer is yes thorin. Depending on the thickness of the net, distance between the net and the screen and the positioning of the projector, the picture may be somewhat to very distorted with shadowing and breaks.

You can see on the golf channel that they hit into a net, but the screen is setup with a projector behind the screen (rear projection). In that case, there will be no distortion on the screen.

    Hope that helps.

    Happy Golfing,
    Cory

I use mine directly into the net and I have zero problems.

Is it as clear as a screen? I wouldnt think so and with the price of screens it better be.

But, I painted the wall behind it black and have the projector above golfer and I have had zero complaints. Works plenty good for me and I am using it in a commercial application.

    Hey Bdipp,

    Thanks for the feedback.

I had to look back at the original question and I think that there are two interpretations here:

    1. Projecting directly on mesh
    2. Projecting through a net onto a projector screen

My response was in regards to the second interpretation. If you are projecting directly onto a mesh material (with about 30% hole coverage or less) then you can still get a good picture without a problem.

We actually have mesh screen at our demo center (about 10% hole coverage):

Hopefully that helps clear things up

Keep your eye on the ball,
