Where to go on a short golf vacation locally
My better half and I are thinking of taking a short 1 or 2 night "golf" trip somewhere within 3 hours of Ottawa. Not Tremblant. Any suggestions? If there was other things to do there other than golf that would be good too for a few brownie points

Lake Placid is very nice, with lots to do plus golf (brownie points). Syracuse and Binghamton have lots of options as well. We will be trying Rochester (Victor) this fall. A short drive the other direction gets you to the Eastern Townships. Magog, Bromont, Sutton, the list goes on.

I like Chateau Montebello, they have golf, water sports, Squash, tennis, indoor and outdoor pools, and of course their famous Sunday brunch. Lots of packages available.

Ditto on Montebello. I am not crazy about the layout of that course, but it's always in good condition, and the hotel is a lot of fun to go in the summer, tons of activities.

Heritage is but 20 minutes from Montebello and although they have rooms for weekend getaways there is not much else to do but indoor callisthenics, golf and eat but then again what else do you need???

Lac Argile is a beautiful spot...we used to go camping there all the time.
I haven't been on the course, but it looks beautiful!!!
Plus...the little corner store down the road will sell you beer at 8:30 AM.
Do not pick up Hitchhikers.

You may wish to try the Renfrew area. We've stayed at Logos Land (hotel suites and condos for rent) and at the Renfrew Best Western (packages available) and have, over the course of the weekend, had the selection of Renfrew (my favourite), Oaks of Cobden (my wife's favourite), Whitetail and Dragonfly.
