You are NOT going to believe this
As the subject says, I'm sure many of you will not believe what I'm about to say, but I swear it's all true.
I played at Equinelle tonight. I had an albatross on #6. I holed a 7-iron from 188 yards. Now, #6 is 'only' 480 yards long from the tees I was playing... and it was downwind... but still. I was playing by myself but there was a twosome behind me who acted as my witnesses.
The albatross in and of itself is pretty amazing. But that's only part of the story. After finishing the 6th hole, some lightning was moving into the area so I went back to the clubhouse to wait it out. After close to two hours, I was able to continue my round and I had the course to myself. I bogeyed #7 making a pretty good putt to do so.
Then... #8... 154 yards. I hit an 8-iron with a slight draw, it landed about 15 feet short of the hole and dropped in for a HOLE IN ONE!!! That's an albatross and a hole in one over the span of 3 holes!
Now, as I said, I had the course to myself so... no witnesses. I looked to see if anyone was in any of the houses behind the 8th tee so they could at least watch me walk up to the hole and pick out the ball but no luck.
For what it's worth, I've already got a 'verified' hole in one so I have very little reason to make this up. Also, if it helps to prove my honesty, I tripled #9.
I ended up shooting a 73. I suspect I would have actually scored better if I ended up with tap-ins for eagle/birdie on #6 and #8 because it was pretty hard to stay focused for the rest of the round.
After the round, I headed to the nearest convenience store and bought $50 worth of lottery tickets.

It's interesting you should mention that... it was my wife's response as well. Although, she was thinking about it from the perspective that I'd probably keep playing through the lightning just because things were going my way.

I think we can all beat Tiger right now!
I have to say that it is a tough one to believe (even if there was a witness) but I do believe it because I have seen a few odd things on the course myself!
I have an albatross at #9 at Mountain Creek, hit 3 wood 4 iron in to the hole. The Funny thing, that was Saturday morning, on Sunday morning I hit 4 iron from the almost the exact same spot into the hole. D.Robertson was walking off the green, saw it going in and started yelling and dancing, I yelled up "who cares!" I was 7 off the t and made an 8! Anything can happen on the golf course!
So congrats! If you save the balls from great shots you should have 2 to add to the wall of fame!

I've still got $20 left in reserve for LottoMax on Friday though!

It'll be fun trying.
I've been doing some research and I think really is an extremely rare occurrence. I found a site where you can register your "Double Eagle" (http://www.doubleeagleclub.org) and they have an FAQ there. One of the questions is: "Has any golfer ever scored a hole-in-one and a double eagle in the same round of golf?" There are 5 recorded instances. I suspect there are many more...
I **really** wish I had a witness for the hole in one.

If you were on the charity donation thread, you'd pass 7 guys on the list with those 2 shots. I won't mention their names, for shame!!!
You only get out of something what you put into it
