Protee Launch angle cam!
The launch cam for Protee has arrived...
Just testing the final touches on the Protee cam. It works like a charm. Just what I have been waiting for and it is great. The launch angle is recorded perfectly and the ball speed as well. I am very happy with the software integration with the simulator. Hopefully it will be available soon for those who have the Protee. Apparently they will be adding a ball cam as well very soon. Who knows maybe a spin cam as well. Hit it low and it goes low. Hit it high and it goes high. Extremely impressed with the integration.

Looks like the cam is being offered in the base pack http://www.proteegolfsimulator.com/s...category_id=10.

Protee comes through as promised. You must be very happy bubba22. You'll be even happier when the ball path cam is done.
Protee should include it in the sensor only package also.
I see price cuts coming from GGS.

Yep. I am happy. The ball cam will happen very soon. Hitting different types of shots high and low is what I have always wanted. They are going to start the second cam for ball direction very soon.

Protee will also have a horizontal ball cam probably ready in the next week or 2. Very exciting stuff. I will keep you all posted. The launch cam is working very accurate and makes a huge difference in the visual and flight of the ball.

Hey Bubba22,
On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being your actual golf swing that you see on a golf range/course etc to see the ball going down the course; what number would you put on that scale for the Protee without the launch cam and with the launch cam when comparing them to your real ball flight vs the sim?

I would probably say an 8/10. It truly is impossible to give it a 10 but it is pretty close. Now with thin or fat shots the ball responds to whatever launch and ball speed to go low or high. Its very accurate and is continually being upgraded.

If I already have the pro-tee setup, what steps do I need to take to incorporate the launch angle camera?

You will need the latest interface that has the launch angle cam software. Then the cam can be setup to allow for the ball flight. Protee is working on a ball direction cam as well as we speak. Do you have the latest interface with the cam?

Has anyone heard about bogolf golf simulator. These are 3 high speed camera based and are really affordable as per their website.

Loving the launch cam. Great for practicing those low punch shots. Still awaiting the ball cam but no ruch as the ball sensors are good for now. Nice software updates recently with improved clubface and path accuracy etc.

New method of cam detection which is a great improvement. It really helps with the vertical launch am. I am hoping that the hcam will be done next week.

Whats the new cam detection method? Glad to hear that H-cam testing is going well.

It usues a better greyscale picture to allow for better ball detection. Also allows for easier light requirements for the cam. Works well. I will keep you updated on the hcam. As well just got word that the Protee will soon offer the E6 software. Not sure the pricing but that is very exciting.

I still have no idea if it's worth considering E6. With no demo available, and no one on the forum that has the software to provide feedback on it, all I have to go by are the screenshots on the trugolf website and their polished demo video. It all looks pretty great, but I have no idea how gameplay is or if the graphics really are as good as they look. I'm hoping somebody else takes the plunge at some point to be the guinea pig and let me know!
Regardless, I'll likely wait to see how red chain's new software is looking before doing anything. Plus although I don't think GSA Golf looks as good as E6 for water or some of the lighting, I have always been very happy with it. So, I'm in no rush.
Glad to hear your system is coming together so well bubba!

Thanks RDH. I love the launch cam. It definitely is worth the money and once you have it, there is no going back. The E6 will hopefully be available soon for the Protee. I was told that the cost will be reasonabl and if so I may take the plunge. Having said that, I will check to see if the Protee will be integrated with the new Red Chain software. Anybody have any idea when that will be ready? Any sneak peak at the graphics/looks/features?

Bubba, i know this thread is a little old, but I just got the protee set up and I am having some issues with my launch angle camera. They gave me the settings and everything but the camera has trouble picking up flop shots with wedges (it says they are topped), and certain thin shots also come back as topped. Have you had this problem at all? Any suggestions?

Try increasing the bottom and right excursion, especially the bottom excursion. Post a screenshots if still topping is registered.
