Driving Irons and Ironwoods
Would like a discussion on the merits of these clubs as a replacement for long irons in the bag. ie. instead of 2-4 iron? I am having trouble having my long irons not fade, and have a difficult time getting consistent distance. What lofts should replace what clubs
Also is there something to avoid in these sorts of iron.

A driving iron is generally for people who don't like using woods, so if you have trouble with the 2 - 4 irons then you probably won't like a driving iron either. I use a 7-wood instead of a 2 or 3 iron in most circumstances - you get about the same distance but it is easier to hit and you get a higher trajectory shot that is generally better on an approach shot to the green. The only downside is in windy conditions - the higher trajectory shot gets blown around a lot more.
