Looking for Hunan dumplings with peanut sauce

Hunan dumplings with peanut sauce - found in Szechuan / Thai restaurants

Anyone know what the spicy red oil they put on top is called? We found Peanut sauce at T&T and are now looking for the "red sauce" . Also what type of dumplings are usually used? I think it was pork, but I really am not sure.

We used to get this dish it from a little take out on Booth St that closed several years ago and I have not been able to find it since. Anyone know where they serve it (west end preferred)?

My girlfriend is from Hunan, China and she never heard of Hunan dumplings

i did a quick search and found that So Good restaurant on Sommerset serves "Hunan" Dumplings. Check out the Jan 6, 2010 review:

Great to know. I'll have to go by there. It's right around the corner from the place we used to get them.

    Thanks bobblehead.

No, it's thin like a salad oil. That looks more like ketchup. In the Hunan dumpling dish we used to get the peanut sauce covered the dumplings and the red oil sauce was poured on top in about a 5mm thick layer.

These dumplings are to die for. It's been years since I had them.
