2011 Handicap season has begun

Conditions really are horrible in Ottawa for the next two weeks.

I'll be sure to get out every rainy/windy day between now and June to ensure my cap reflects my true potential.

Weather doesn't look good. I've played once and have yet to hit the range. Either too windy or too cold. It'll be interesting to see how the cap goes.

Yea, this season is really sad so far. Also only been once and a few times to the range. Last year I already had a number of rounds under my belt. Hopefully the weather turns around quick.

You wusses! I've played 4 rounds already, including a nice 81 at Mountain Creek in the pouring rain on bumpy greens Hopefully that's a sign of good things to come this year...

And how were the other 3 rounds?

Well, I stopped counting around 13 the first time out, since it was around 2 degrees, wind and rain. The next one was 99 in good but cold weather, followed by 89 in nice warm conditions, and the last one was the 81. I'd say it's going in the right direction

The start and end of handicapping season should, imo, change every year depending on the local conditions. I played rounds of golf in November last year in ideal golf conditions (which don't count towards my handicap) while I'm supposed to count rounds in disaster conditions like today.
