Nation is great. Played it twice already. Tuesdays they have 2 for 1 green fees. Works to $20 walking, or $40 incl cart/taxes.

I agree with you NoKids, I also played it a few times. We should get a game going soon, so at least I'll know one person at the Ryder Cup, ahahah. I am about 10 minutes from Nation, otw back to Ottawa, so it's a good place to stop for a post round beer!

Just played Nation yesterday for the first time. Very nice course in amazing condition compared to the other two courses I have been to this year. For $20 I was very happy, even though I had a bad game
Just another lefty....

Meadows...
Just spoke to a reliable source who advised North and East are open, wet but playable. They are working on South and West. Probably a few weeks away from good Spring conditions, unless the weather dries up. Cart path only.Last edited by Kiwi; 04-22-2011 at 11:48 AM. Reason: add info

Played Greensmere (Premiere) this morning. Front nine had some wet holes but not as bad as I had expected considering the weather we've had. The back nine was in great shape. Greens were the best I've played yet this spring. Course was packed and I'm sure many will be back soon. Legacy will be opening when things dry up a bit more. Let's hope for warm dry weather.

Played Emerald South/West today and was very happy with the conditions of the greens. They weren't letting out carts today, due to a few soggy spots in the odd fairway, but overall conditions were good ! An enjoyable round !

Headed out to Chateau Cartier today. It is sooooo wet. Many greens have winter kill. They are also punched and sanded/seeded. Many people did not finish because of the wet....balls completely plugged and unable to find in the centre of the fairway. All in all, nice to be out....but this course needs some SERIOUS drying time in order to make it truly and enjoyably playable.

Buckingham has opened all 18 holes.Course had dried out nicely so far. Num. 10 green is closed but we have a spare par 3 to replace it. The greens on the back nine are good with a few winter kill spots.

Front 9 is fairly soggy back 9 fairly dry except for 13. Greens are in pretty good shape and were cut before we teed off Friday morning. They were lightning fast and I must have 3 wacked the first few holes.
All in all first round of the season and had a terrible front 9 but a decent back 9.

Played Anderson Links yesterday and was very disappointed. Club was in decent condition given the weather we've been having, but they were charging full price! $62 with pull cart in the afternoon for that course is a joke at this time of year. It was pretty wet and the greens were fairly shaggy (again is expected, but don't charge full price). To top it all off, they had two groups waiting on the tee every hole... My fault for not asking when I called, but I would have paid $70 with cart at the Marshes in a heartbeat had I known. No beercart or marshall on the course was just gravy to top it all off! Lol Oh well, an over priced five and a half hour round beats not golfing any day of the week!! That will be my only round at that course this year though.
Oh yeah, forgot to mention that the Marshall handed out a $5 coupon for your next round... Really?

Played at Cloverdale yesterday. Only the front 9 is open. It is wet overall and very wet in places. The greens were fine though (although obviously a little slow). The 4th hole is VERY long when there is no roll on your drives!

TOO much rain !!! Wanted to just go and hit a few balls around Bearbrook ----even they had the sense to say "we are not taking any tee times--only 9 are open and IT"S VERY WET" 70.00 for Anderson at any time is nuts---I guess "whatever the market will bear"
Does the 2nd hole-n-one come easier ?

Played Prescott yesterday - dry and greens were in great shape. The odd wet spot here and there but nothing major. I believe they were charging regular price, but with the 30% off coupon from the golf show it only cost $30 and was well worth it. A bit of a journey, but I stopped in Kemptville for gas where the price was 10 cents/litre cheaper than Ottawa so that makes it bearable.
