Played Gatineau this morning in under 4 hours. Considering all the rain we've had its in good shape, dry. A couple of fairways in rough shape but greens fast although tricky. Will play it again once they have their slope and rating done.
Just don't drop the scorecard on the way to the first tee; gave the memory a challenge.

Meadows - West-South - Friday Jun 3
Tee Boxes, Fairways, Rough, all seemed to be in early Spring condition. Marshal said until late last week the rough had not been cut due to wetness. Fairways generally good and getting decent bounce and roll out. Some damage on fairways where there had been standing water. Traps well conditioned. Greens had been punched recently but were almost grown in. Greens would be about average and running true. In general the course looked a little ragged around the edges as far as paths being cleaned up and proper trimming. Could be a weather issue or perhaps cutbacks due to low use.

Equinelle
Had my first round on this track today. Had heard a lot of good comments on its layout and condition and was not disappointed. I know that much of the talk on the site surrounds the condition of greens at the various tracks. Equinelle doesn't fall shy in that category. However, I was simply AMAZED at the quality of the fairways! Side to side and front to back, the consistent condition of those fairways must rank close to the top in the Ottawa Valley! Another one of my 'bucket list'.
Now, about that clubhouse..... lol"If profanity had any influence on the flight of the ball, the game of golf would be a lot easier than it is" - Horace Hutchinson (1903)

Lombard Glen
Played today for the first time-----we just have too many nice country courses Not the hardest course in the world but it WILL make you play better golf. In real nice shape--rough a little long but the next cutting should fix that. It is really worth the drive

Greensmere - Premier 18
Front nine fairways are brutal. Lots of ground under repair on 4,5,8. Greens overall were in good shape and rolling to summer conditions.
Premier back nines rough was burnt and dusty. Fairways though are perfect and greens are better.
Basically the back nine is in much better condition then the front.

Played Casselview yesterday... the greens were immaculate, and it was shown in the first 4 holes where there were 5 birdies between the two of us.
My only complaint is that with the recent weather, the course is playing too short, and that they need to let the rough grow up a bit. There was no penalty being in the rough at all.
Will definitely head back there this year.Let's put a Smile on that Face!

Anyone play Arnprior recently?

Played Hammond yesterday, overall in good shape, a few patchy fairways, and bunkers were very wet, but greens were in great shape and rolling true.
Don't forget the bugspray, lots of mosquitoes out.

Played Le Sorcier on Friday...pretty rough shape - greens, fairways and tee-boxes very patchy. Greens are rock hard and very difficult to hold - not sure why it is so bad. Not a big fan of the layout either, but that is just me.

Tried to get on there this Friday but all the EG spots were taken. Somewhere in this forum, someone posted a similar comment regarding the conditions this year. I know that its up for sale. Perhaps that's at least part of the reason...
We're now booked at Casselview for Friday. I hear that there's no penalty for being in the rough! (Sorry, Hoolio...just had to!)"If profanity had any influence on the flight of the ball, the game of golf would be a lot easier than it is" - Horace Hutchinson (1903)

Anybody been out to Champlain recently?
Last I heard a couple weeks ago it was still very wet.

I was there on June 9th and it was still pretty wet, although not as bad as when they first opened in May. Plugged a couple of balls in the fairway, and I also plugged a ball on the 15th green.
Is the Pope catholic? Does a bear crap in the woods? Does Ricky Fowler wear orange on finals Sunday?

I actually played it yesterday. A couple of the fairways were a complete mess, one of them was almost impossible to hit off of in a certain area. Other holes weren't wet at all and were quite nice. Greens were in decent shape and with the weather looking good the next few days it should be a lot better.

Played Stonebridge yesterday afternoon, the greens were cut, sanded and brushed. This meant for slow greens...everything was in great shape.
