Dynamic gold or FST pro 125 for new irons

just picked up a set of golfsmith pro forged iron heads 2-pw with tour cavity forged 2-4 iron off ebay brand new (yes shocking) and need to get some shafts installed. i swing over 90mph with my irons so x-stiff flex will be needed, also im 6'4 and will need them to be over standard length.

just wondering if anyone has tried both of these shafts and what there opinions are?

where would be a good place to get them installed? pm if interested in installing

right now golfworks is charging $10/club.

I have played both in the past. My HATE for feel of the Dynamic Gold is of Biblical proportions. I really like the FST Pro 125.

Having said that, you can probably find other with exactly the reverse opinion.

    What are you playing now?

I would not mirror JV's sentiments. I'm a hall ball hitter with my irons and dg flattens it out nicely, I was hitting high spinning sky balls with those FST shafts and also much preferred the feel of the DG's. To each their own!

I have a DG s300 in one of my wedges and I like it.
But the FST are amazing shafts for the money and I have them in my KZG Evolutions irons.
I would go for the FST for sure.
    Obviously you're not a golfer.

Buy one of each and try them. Investment will be $20 plus install. Worth it imho.

Keep in mind that if they are built longer they should be tipped more than recommended if you want to achieve the stated flex.

Do you have grips and ferrules?

You know that your opinion is just wrong, don't you.

jvincent, I would love to know the specifics of what you do not like about DG's. This is all I have ever played. I am building a new set of irons soon. I have on hand a new set of Apollo Hump R-Flex, and a new set of FST 125's.

good luck with your weight. I am down from 210 to 195 since Christmas. Alas, the BMI charts show me today that I should weigh 160 pounds!

DG have always felt too tip stiff to me. That translates into a very harsh feel on impact.

Of course, it has been many years now since I played a full season with DG. Since moving away I have played Rifle, ProjectX, FST, and currently playing Xcaliber graphite.

Don't sweat the BMI ratings. They are simply not right for men and in general recommend a weight that is too low for most people.
