Open!!!!!!!
FOXFIRE in Syracuse is Officially OPEN! They opened today. Walking only but think they may have carts out for Saturday or Sunday if it doesn't rain hard tonight.
Course is OPEN! (by the way, I was just on the phone with them, confirmed!)

That seems awfully early, cool though.
Obviously you're not a golfer.

Apparently the last couple of snowfalls have turned more to rain. Said it's been
windy as well, which really helps dry things up. Said No Carts today but that today
the course really dried up and if it continues then maybe by the weekend it will be cart paths and roughs.

I'll take some of that action!!
Few things in life help you find sanity in the process of losing it. Golf is one of them.

I can see a couple of courses jumping up a week, and possibly even sliding in front of nation.

Driving by Mapleview today, the 1st fairway has a bit of snow on the edges, the 9th and 18th were clear and 10 looked pretty good (from what I could see from the roadway). They were also out working on things!

They are now calling for up to 10cms of snow tomorrow! March really is the cruelest month! I know we live nearly in the middle of a continent and that makes weather prediction much harder than on coastlines but I just cannot understand how they can vary the predictions so wildly from day to day.
yesterday they were saying Monday would be sunny and 6C now they are saying it will feel like -4C and have 5-10cm of snow.
As Oscar Wilde said "I don't mind despair, despair I can live with...it's hope I can't handle" thats how I feel about Golf and March

Anything that falls on one day will be gone within a day or two if the temperature cooperates. Even if we got 10-15cm tomorrow I doubt it would change much as far as opening predictions ~10 days from now are concerned. Come on, it's GO time!!

I agree. Look how much snow fell just over a week ago. What we get now won't hang around long. We just need the ground to warm up!
