I have the interface and just waiting on the e6 lite build that will work with it. I should have it today and be able to start testing on Thursday.

Testing of the X1 TBox is going well so far - we will be testing it further and working with their development team on working out the final details!

Some other pictures.
You will also notice that the X2 has nothing to hide. It shows how far the ball was tracked (not visible on the screenshot, but it shows 208m below the cursor)
Also, I forgot to mention that a few things need to be improved :
- quality of head measurement with wedges (known "bug" for flightscope)
- ipad version has to be improved : combination of metric and imperial measurements, driver shots not working in client mode (when the ipad is connected to the pc), limitation in the initial setup of the X2 when only using the ipad without the pc(tilt and roll)

Glad you are enjoying the Flightscope patator. Big step up from the Zelocity I bet. If you could do a review in the Flightscope section patator that would be great!!! Interesting about the smash factor. Let us know what happens with that.

Actually, it happens only with one head most of the time (and not all players)...I will let you know...
The X2 is absolutely FANTASTIC. I would recommend it 10 times to anybody.

PS: for those of you who have access to a good LM, try the new Tom Wishon 919 head against your current head...and tell me what you think of it. It's the best head I have hit for years and years. According to TW, it is the best head he has and will ever design !

good to hear from you patator.
did yon sell your tracker?
Your X2 experience is making me think l just need to buy an X2 open the garage doors and drape blackout curtain over them if the light is affecting the screen. I can do the setup of 5 and 3.5 if I do that
What projector do yon have and how much light do you hit in ?
keep us updated on the X2 testing

Yes, I sold the Tracker to a former owner of a vector pro. I lost 1500USD in 2 months time. I have not heard anything from the new owner. So, I guess he's OK for what the Tracker delivers. I believe the swing speed, ball speed, launch angles are pretty accurate (compared to what I obtain with the X2). As far as spin is concerned, I guess I will never have the true answer....real big fake or not ?
And yourself, I saw your last email with Ken Starr...and since then ?
I don't use the X2 indoor...but I have tested it nearly in the dark with my PGA brother in law (we couldn't stop playing with it). I worked OK...so, I guess lightening is probably not an issue.
I will wait a bit before the review (until the answer from the support about my small concerns + new software update this month)

First the Wishon 919 , then the Snaker Eyes ViperTi. I may have to buy both!!!! Smash seem high but not impossible. patator do you mind if I move some of the posts to the Flightscope section?

No prob, please go ahead.
I'm also attaching a Trackman newsletter explaining in details what means exactly smash factor and details about the head speed measurement (both the Trackman and the X2 measure the head speed in the middle)

Hi guys,
just to conclude on this topic before posting in a few weeks a deeper review, I just wanted to share with you my last phone call with the application engineer of Flightscope ("David Nell").
I've been in touch a few times with David by email...and for an hour by phone today. I'm very impressed by the professionalism and customer care of David and more generally by the support team.
David gave me a lot of possible combinations explaining my high factors (ball hit low on the face, close to the toe, confirmed by my high spin rates + hot TWGT head). We've also spent a lot of time on how to decrease spin and increase distance, ie : higher launch angle obviously, lower angle of attack, ball hit slightly above the sweet spot to decrease spin...
Despite all his explanations, David asked me for more data with other heads including raw data information (2min to save 1 shot)...very professional attitute and not a just a "trust me" attitude...as some of us have experienced when talking to Z...Y !
Again, for those of you who could afford it, if you want the best for value LM and an EXCELLENT customer support, go for Flightscope !

Cory
can you please remember to test the X1 TBox by hitting
10 shots to the left of centre within slice
10 shots to the left of centre with a draw
10 shots to the right of centre with a slice
10 shots to the right of centre with a slice
and give us the results ( noting you stand on the wrong side of the ball)
Cheers
edit; fingers crossed all

I have some very useful info. To cut a long story short I was sold a Flighscope X2 despite only being able to get 3.6 m back from the screen. I hit an 8 iron about 155 yards but the unit was frequently giving readings of 165 yards or higher. Borrowed a GC2 for a test. The GC2 gave me figures much closer to 155 yards.
The X2 overestimated ball speed and underestimated spin rate. The unit was levelled and the balls had the appropriate dot on the ball and facing the target.

4 metres is the minimum indoor screen to ball then 2.5 ball to X2.
http://www.flightscope.com/index.php...ope-setup.html
anything less than that is not giving the X2 a chance. Try using the GC2 upside down.....same concept ignoring the operating instructions.
Try the required setup and report back.(cut a hole in a wall?)

Flightscope openly published that you need a minimum of 108 inches from the X2 launch monitor to the ball. The suggest that there is 13 feet of flight distance from the ball to the impact screen when used indoors. This distance enables a ball to be accurately measured that is travelling 130 mph with a low spin of only 2000 rpm. The launch monitor needs 2 revolutions to be able to accurately measure the ball metrics. I only have 11.5 feet of flight distance but this is okay for 115 mph ball speed because I don\t have any clients with fast enough club head speed to generate ball speeds in excess of 115 mph during the winter months when I use the unit indoors. I use the metallic dot as recommended be placed on the ball when using the launch monitor indoors. All of my measurements that I recorded during the winter months when indoors were followed up being verified in outdoor conditions when I surveyed my clients this summer asking about 6 iron, 8 iron and driver carry distances that they have been regularly achieving.
I have an extremely high confidence level with the indoor ball measurements that my X2 provides. I think that you do not have the distance requirements needed to properly use the unit indoors.Engineered Golf - Frank Hann 3.8 GHIN

Thanks for that guys. Unfortunately I can't cut a hole in the wall!
fhann, Why do you think you are OK at 11 ft (3.5 m), but I "do not have the distance requirements needed to properly use the unit indoors" (3.6 m back from screen and 3m from ball to sensor). I hit an 8 iron 155 yards (driver clubhead speed approx. 100 mph) so I am not a big hitter.

GolfMonster2:
I interpreted your post to mean that your total distance was 3.6 metres total from the screen to the launch monitor. My total distance from monitor to the screen is 6.24 meters, (2.74 m (108 inches) from launch monitor to ball plus 3.5 m (138 inches) from the ball to the screen. As I explained earlier, my setup has the flight distance shorter than the Flightscope recommendation but is still adequate for ball speeds of 115 mph with 2000 rpm spin numbers. I am still able to capture a minimum of 2 revolutions of the ball before it hits the screen. Just use some mathematics to determine your flight distance, (keeping the minimum of 2.74 m behind the ball), based on speed of ball combined with ball spin, then add that flight distance measurement you have calculated to the 2.74 m to get your total distance.Engineered Golf - Frank Hann 3.8 GHIN

Anyone know if the Flightscope X2 with E6 software picks up short chip shots? I know the X2 does not do putting but just wondering if during a simulated round it picks up chip shots around the green.

It will pickup short chips as long as the ball flight is 12' or longer.
Hope that helps,
Cory
