Since the AboutGolf simulator was mentioned in a few threads lately, I though I should resurrect this thread. If you have recently played on an AboutGOlf sim, please post your opinions and which version.
From their site, the current AboutGolf's main hardware is the 3trak. It's uses two high speed(2000fps) cameras running in 3D stereoscopic photography mode.
The 3trak anaylizes a certain amount of captured frames(not sure exactly how many) and calculates backspin, sidespin, rifle spin, ball speed, club speed, angle of attack, horizontal ball position at impact, ball path, and LA.
From looking at their example layout diagram and some of the pictures on their site, the 3trak is mounted either on the left side or right side of the enclosure just forward of the stance mat.
I don't believe club or ball markings are required but the 3trak works best if the clubs have markings and specially marked balls are used. Am I right bubba22?

As usual Z, yes you are right. The one's that I have used apparently work better with marked balls. I have not tested that personally.
