Sticky Stuff
I removed the shaft stickers from my new iron shafts as I didn't like the way they looked at address and spent the next 15-20 minutes scraping/rubbing the sticky gunk off of one shaft.
Anyone have any tips/tricks for easy removal of the stuff? I tried steel wool and used some acetone. All the acetone did was kind of smear it around. When it came down to it all that seemed to work was a ton of elbow grease.Even I've never heard of me

Use a heat gun or a hair dryer. Or get some Goo Gone.

I've been told that Goo Gone is not all that great for de-sticking things.
Any personal experiences with using it successfully would help its case.Even I've never heard of me

I used a hand steamer, walmart for $20, to remove the old window tint from my car and that worked like gangbusters. So if it can remove that old glue I'm sure it will take off shaft stickers.

Solvent and steel wool. Then a rag with solvent.

Peanut Butter
Use peanut butter on a wash cloth or a scouring pad.
Don't laugh this works very well. I do it all the time.
Obviously you're not a golfer.

me too. use Goo Gone all the time to remove stickers off shafts...just put some on...let it sit for about 5 minutes and then wipe it off...no goo left.

Peanut butter wins by a landslide! . . peel the sticker off, rub the leftover sticker residue with peanut butter on a cloth for about 10 seconds and BAM! Super shiny clean shaft just like that.
Who knew?Even I've never heard of me

I have also removed the shaft stickers from my iron shafts last night, the new grip colour didn't really match the shaft sticker anymore. I will be using peanut butter tonight to remove the sticky stuff.
The shafts look so much better without them, I don't know why I didn't do this sooner.
Obviously you're not a golfer.
