Dallas amateur golfer Richard Lewis, 64, broke the Guinness World Record for rounds played in a single season on Sunday when he finished his 600th round of the year at TPC Four Seasons Las Colinas in Irving, Texas.

At that pace, I calculate he would get around 345 rounds completed if he played in Ottawa region. (210 golfing days). Impressive.

My goal next year is to enter tournaments and get into competitive golf. Something tells me that if I played 350 rounds I'd burn out and wouldn't play well in competition. Quality over quantity will be my motto next year. 120 rounds sounds like a healthy number (4 rounds per week).

Counting Florida games (3 months); I probably had 270 rounds in 2010. I could never get close to that Dallas guy. I play almost every day too. Man, he must play a lot of multiple rounds.

I play with a retired school teacher who is close to scratch (maybe he was a + hcp once upon a time), who often plays 36 holes per day, april-october. I wonder how many rounds per year he plays?

I think I have found your secret, I will start using these balls as well!!! I am fully recovered and got a $200 certificate to Golf-o-Max so I am gearing up for this season. I am booking my lessons this month too. Used Pro Vs will be my secret weapon
