Yup, I have it installed and now just working with the owner to tweak it so that I can get the most accuracy out of it. I will be posting a review as soon as it is up running and I get a few different golfers testing it.

Hey Cory,
I'm very curious to know how spin is measured. i.e how many frames of the ball is captured, whether marked balls are needed, etc....

I am also interested in the spin aspect of Bogolf. Looking forward to your review Cory.

Hi Par2Pro - looking forward to your review on BoGolf. When are you anticipating to have your first take at it? Thank you.

As soon as I can work out the lighting issue and then have a chance to test it myself along with some other testers. Possibly a week or longer as I want to be sure that it is working in top form before we make any judgements.

Any update Cory? People are anxiously waiting for your review...

Hey Guys,
We ran into a lighting issue - got the lumens right, but the positioning is still not up to par. I am working with BoGolf, but my prorities are my customers first, then testing so it is hard to get to because it is the busiest time of year
Again, I am trying to get this done ASAP, but I will be making sure I set this up properly before confirming anything.
Cheers,
Cory

Wow takes long to setup. Shows the importance of setup for any sim.

Thanks Cory.
Quick question. Where are the 3 cameras mounted/locate?
-
10-24-2011 12:16 PM #46
The setup has taken longer than normal, but I am a bit of a perfectionist and I have been setting up a whole new demo center, so the time spent has not been all with BoGolf. (Just to be fair ).
The 3 cameras are mounted overhead and forward a little.

2 cameras in stereo and one in the middle like the picture above? Interesting...

I would love to know the workings of these cameras? Frame rates? What each capture? Any idea Cory?

Hey Guys,
Just a quick update....
I just installed a new mount, recalibrated the lights and cameras, setup and installed a new computer and it looks like we are closer, but still not getting the accuracy that I would expect for that kind of money.
We are now working with BoGolf to figure out what we need to do next. There is definitely some frustrations with the time differences for support (not to mention that they have been in the middle of a move and server upgrade).
I know you are all anxious, but I don't think we have it perfected yet. Once we do, I am pretty sure that we will be able to provide the setup details to our customers a little easier than what we have received from the manufacturer.
Happy Golfing Everyone!
Cory

Thanks for the update Cory. Keep up the good work.
Curious about the new computer. More horsepower needed for the Bogolf system?
Care to elaborate on the problem? Got some great minds in this forum. Perhaps we can help.

Wow Cory. If its taking "YOU" that long what about the rest of us. Is that a bad sign or are you just busy with many things on the go?

Zmax - computer was XP 32 bit, changed to faster processor, better video card and Win7 64 bit.
Bubba - I have just been swamped. It is my busiest time of year, so my clients come first, then testing.
It is also my year end and my wife is due with our first on December 19th, so I have been trying to get the house renos done and the baby room setup (we are doing a hockey arena for a nursery!!!) - so my nights and weekends have been booked up. Oh yeah, can't forget about the backrubs and story telling to our boy in her belly
PS: no real tech specs from the manufacturer yet. I go by hands on first and then look at the specs to back it up!
Cheers,
Cory

I can't help but be a little skeptical here. The simulator was not available or ready when you went to visit them. And now, accuracy issues? I hope you get the issues worked out as it would mean another option for us all, but ....
And yes! Congrats on the baby. A boy?

Hey ZMax,
I agree - red flags have gone up a few times, but I remain optimistic. I could have easily said forget it, but I do believe that the owner believes that we can get this very accurate.
Thanks. Yup, Maxwell Sebastian Gauvreau - or so we have agreed on so far. MAX POWER!
Cheers,
Cory

Hey, that is a great name...
As for Bogolf, are you at liberty to discuss with us what the accuracy issues are? Or share any Bogolf documentation?
I take it that you can back out of the deal and get your money back, if you have any invested?

Cory, congrats on the baby! Let's change the order: family first; customers second; product reviews third (unless I PM you).

LOL, thanks Tommy I agree. We all are working so that we can spend life with the ones we love the best we can.
As for the problems, I don't like to post too many of the preliminary issues when testing a system because it may end up looking bad if someone only reads that part of the post and then gets a certain stigma about it when that really isn't the case.
It may be as simple as a particular adjustment or a corrupt file - I would like to work with the owner to see what it may be and then I will put that in my post so that if people do want the system, they can be confident I have found what will work best with that system to make it work properly.
As always, I really appreciate the great minds here and will definitely post any challenges that may come up after exhausting the company themselves.
Cheers,
Cory
