'Impact' screen for indoor/basement Sim

Trying to identify the best option for an indoor impact screen that allows for a clear projection, can withstand the force of foam golf balls -- and can be 'whisked' away at the request of the wife.

Does anyone use a pulldown/standard movie projector screen?

Any/all creative recommendations would be very well appreciated.

The pulldown projection screens will probably be damaged by foam balls unless you are talking the real light foam balls. The almost balls etc would not work with the tv projection screens. Tell or show us what you are trying to acheive.

speaking of impact screens i finally made my mind up on projector so now its time to move forward to my impact screen. I found this on ebay........... NYLON CORDURA 600 BRIGHT WHITE FABRIC EXTRA STRONG

but am a little worried that it would not be thick enough to use for real golf balls?.....any ideas on that??

Not unless you have a netted cage or sturdy netting, Bubba.

Agreed psace but it sounds like he wants something very portable. I suppose u could have a standard pull down projection screen and hit into a cage. May not be that quick to set up and take away.

That may be ok bubba827. The questions are is it big enough for a single screen or will it require sewing 2 pieces together and thus having a seam. My first impact screen had a seam and started to break down at the seam. The 600 denier represents the heaviness of the fabric and as a general thought, the heavier the denier the stronger the fabric. I think my original was 1000 denier. I must say that the screen I have now from Cory is simply wonderful and I highly recommend it.

Forgot to mention that the one option is to double up your screen for added strength. I believe psace has done that and I used my old screen as a back layer behind my new screen and I am very happy with it.

I too have been searching for what these screens are made of but without a definite answer yet. The secret is still not revealed. I've been searching first for fabrics that are 108 or 120" wide so as to make it without a middle seam. The best I've come up with is canvas or muslin so far. I've yet to decide what to do.

The fabric idea may work if I can rig something to allow for it to be easy-on or retractable.
