Courses in Smiths Falls or Perth area.

I will be at a cottage on the big rideau this weekend and want to know what course to play. If anyone has an opinion let me know.

Lombard Glan and Smiths Falls Golf Club are both good. In my opinion Smiths Falls is longer but without as much trouble. Lombard Glen seems to have lots of water, is more demanding in terms of accuracy off the tee, but is shorter.

    Smiths Falls / Perth Courses

Smiths Falls is in nice condition - it plays long (esp from blues) and is a good challenge. Greens are predictable and fairly easy to read. Fairways are usually wide, but the first cut can be long enough to lose your ball - watch when it heads left or right. Placement very important on several holes.

The Perth Golf Course is also nice - each nine is like playing a different style of course - front nine fairly open, back nine with more woods. Not long, but you don't want to use driver on every hole either - placement important.

I would try to book tee times (1 day ahead at Smiths Falls for non=member) at each one.

    Mike K.
