    My Simulator Set Up

Here is my set up in the garage. I under estimated how much clearance the screen needs from the wall. Right now, the ball flies back as if bounced directly from the wall. I am just using almostgolf ball. I would appreciate any advise on how to fix this issue aside from increasing the gap of the wall and the screen.

Special thanks to Bubba, RDH & Cory. RDH, I mounted the projector left of the garage opener as you can see. There is a slight keystone adjustment. This is still work in progress. Eventually I will build some cage-like hitting bay and hit real golf balls.

for those who use almostgolf ball, if you compress your irons hard, it will stain the pad. look what happened to mine.

Beautiful setup dvshx! It hardly looks like a garage at all! A bit more tweaking on the screen issue and then you can just focus on enjoying it...

I wonder if you mounted some carpet on the wall behind the screen (thick stuff...maybe even with thick underpad) whether that would solve your issue? Mine is about a foot out from the wall and I have the cage/net as well, so I haven't had that problem.

I will try that. I will look for some bed foam padding and mount it behind the screen. If that does not work, I will just increase the distance from wall.

On the bottom of the screen, there is a 1/2 inch PVC inserted for additional weight. I might try to fill it with sand to see if that makes any difference.

You could also look at picking up some heavy metal piping (electrical conduit pipe?) to insert into the seam at the bottom.

I use the white Jef world of Golf limited flight balls from Golf Town. They don't stain and I find them a little bit heavier than the almost balls. They feel more like a real ball.

Wow, thanks for the info bubba. I've been looking at those, but since I already had the almost balls... didn't think it would be too much of a difference. Definitely going to go pick up a pack. Do they wear out as quickly as the almost balls?

I have some of the brush tee balls coming, but I may look at the ones you recommend bubba.

Nice setup, thanks for sharing your pictures!

I think they are more durable than the almost balls. I like the feel of them better. They do get dirty like the almost balls as well. They are not expensive. Try them and let us know your thoughts.

Where did you get your screen made? I like the size/setup.

Great job on the setup dvshx - thanks for posting pics!!!

To answer your question about the ball bouce back - you can add a piece of netting in behind your screen - it will help absorb the impact and it also reduces the noise (a little bit anyways)
