Global Warming... sucks!
Enough with the heat. Never thought I's say that after 2009, but I do today. Made the annual trek out to the Canadian. Love the course... hate the drive, either way you get rush hour. Anyway, took a cart to beat the heat. From the first tee there was a major disconnect between mind and body. When I could think of what to do, my body would not respond. Ended up pocketing the ball on a couple of holes then finally took the glove off after my fourth shot hit the water on #17. Not an easy course on the best of days. Sucks to get old but just can't hack the heat any more. From now on, if it is too hot to walk, then it's too hot to play.

Might want to look at a house in San Diego.
There's about 7 days a year in Ottawa where it is not too hot or too cold.Fairways and Greens!

Kiwi,I understand your frustration. I walked 9 holes this morning and carted the back nine(more hilly than the front) On hole number 13, i started getting dizzy and thats when I decided to stop also. I had the worst game in the last few weeks and can only blame the heat. Having suffered from minor heat stroke a few years back, i find I cant tolerate this type of heat anymore. You are not alone my friend. On the bright side, its nice in here right now and the beer is extra cold !!!

Went out today after work to play 9 holes. Started at about 6:20 and even then it was really really hot. Dripping with sweat but it was still managable, I'd do it again. Dont know how well I'd do if it was 1pm though lol

Love the warm sunny days.... During the week-end we will be complaining about how cold and rainy it is...
If you think it's hard to meet new people, try picking up the wrong golf ball.

i found it quite nice - teed off at 3:40, finished at 7:45. Sun was behind the clouds for most of it so it wasn't too bad and a nice breeze was blowing on the back 9. Give me that over winter any day.
I got a fever. And the only prescription is more golf equipment.

Played last night at 5:30 and found it hot but not unbearable. I bought some pricey Nike and Adidas golf shirts (on sale) that wick the sweat off and they do make you feel cooler. Get some. It's like playing in Arizona heat. Just make sure you drink plenty of water and you're good to go.
As for the Global Warming Sucks title, you'll eat those words in 4 months when it is New Years' Day.

I personally love this heat! Better than the awful days of Feb/Mar. When playing in the heat your body stays looser. You never need to carry extra clothes just in case. Sure you sweat a bit more but it's a heck of a lot better than shoveling! And lots of courses have 30 degree heat discounts on carts. That helps. Bring on the heat.

You know it's too cold to play golf when …
1 EVERY tee time is available.
2 You try to spit on your clubface to clean it, and it freezes, In mid-air.
3 The starter's name tag says "Burl Ives."
4 You call the pro for a tee time, and he answers, In Barbados.
5 You develop the yips from shivering.
6 Your Eskimo friend cancels; says he forgot a dentist appointment.
7 You can putt out of a water hazard.
8 instead of carts, the course uses dog sleds.
9 The cart girt pulls up on a snowmobile.
10 You open the door to the starter shack, and he's in there ice fishing.
11 The super's dog Is chasing penguins off the course.
12 You discover hand warmers are good just about anywhere you put them.

Wind was mild so it wasn't too cold out there. Just wet.

I'm not paying $40 to be miserable. I get that for free at home..... EH OH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol just kidding.
But this weather sucks. Last year I was golfing into November. I've already hung up the clubs for the season. Believe me if I win a substantial amount of money, I'm outta here from September to April. Love Ottawa, but love San Diego winters more.Donny Vantage NFL Guru, since 1974
