Club Championships

Has anyone else had their club championships yet? We had ours at Metcalfe first weekend of August, but in talking with some friends seems most places do it late Aug or early Sept.

Unfortunately, we only had 4 guys in a A flight (0-8.0 index), not one of us played well over both days. I shot a 78 day 1 and had a sizable lead, but gave all but 2 strokes back on the front 9 of day 2. I managed to fend off the others on the back 9 and won by 2. It wasn't pretty (shot 90 on day 2 with a 9 on the 4th hole for a total of 168), but I'll take it.

Golf is a funny game that way, 4 A flight golfer (indexs all between 6 - 8), and 1 of us breaks 80 over 2 days (thats 8 rounds of golf with 1 sub 80 round).

Hope everyone else plays well in their club champs.

Greensmere had it's club championship on Saturday and Sunday with the Sunday round canceled due to the severe storms and heavy rain.

Darren Forbes won his first club championship with a round of 69 and I finished 3rd.

That is just Hautes Plaines, I know Kanata has theirs this weekend. Not sure when GH and EC are.

Ray Holder won Calabogie's again last weekeend. We managed to get Sundays round in dispite the thunder showers. I sucked..

Upper canadas was last week , I played the Iroquois Mens Open good tournament for $60 won a $50 home depot card and 4 green fees for Morrisburg that I gave away

Smiths Falls was a couple of weeks ago...young Brooke Henderson won the womens by 33 shots 74-76-76

too bad man, im floating between A/B flight would prefer to play B to have a chance of winning, + would be good experience if have to fight on the last day to win, should be interesting this year.

Yeah for sure. I had one bad round last year that ended my hopes to finishing in a good place. Good luck!

Renfrew's was this past weekend, and we managed to get both rounds in despite the weather Sunday. I stunk it up (89-85) but bizarrely I was -3 on the par 5s for the weekend.
