Mickelson in good shape after arthritis diagnosis
World number two Phil Mickelson has been diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis but says he feels 90 percent fit ahead of this week's U.S. PGA Championship at Whistling Straits.

Welcome to the club Phil. If he goes the way I did, he'll lose a ton of muscle within a year. It's not pretty. Mind you he was diagnosed much quicker then I was on got on the drugs much quicker then I did. Helps to have money and the best doctors money can buy. He's got this for life, remission of course is there, but you have to be very careful.

I was diagnosed with psoratic arthritis 11 years ago. I had just turned 30. It was crippling to say the least. I took every drug possible at the time(including a few that were not prescribed) to cope with the pain. I have been in remission for the last 4 years thankfully. I feel for him for sure.

I sympathize for sure as I was diagnosed at the age of 17 with arthritis and although it comes and goes it makes golf very challenging at times especially in the hands. I remember a game at an NCGT event in the rain at Emerald Links that I could barely hold my club and my hands throbbed so much I would have loved to just walk off and soak them in the hottest water possible. What Phil and you guys have is much worse of course. Golf is worth it.
