    HELP!!!! Need Advice

I'm involved in the Sun Scramble starting on the 18th of Aug. If we make the cut and get into the final round on the 21st......it's my 1st wedding anniversary. Is it reasonable for me to golf the 2nd round and just leave afterwards to go out to dinner? Should I try and get someone else to take my place for the entire tourney? I know what most golfers would say....but anyone have some serious advice to give me?

Sorry, do you mean you will play in the tournament round and just skip the tournament dinner or something else?
Not fat anymore. Need to get better at golf now!

ya...that's what I was thinking. I kinda figured that if the anniversary was on a wednesday...I'd be working all day and go out to dinner that night. So maybe I can golf in the 2nd round...but skip the dinner and just head home for an evening with the beautiful wife.

Cross the bridge (or burn it) when you get there...no need to worry about what might or might not happen.... my advice to you is to get your lady to play golf.

If you are allowed a caddy in your second round, then take your spouse, that way you still spend the day together.

You can still leave before the dinner for your own private dinner.

However, since this is your first anniversary, consider if playing at all is the right thing OR at least make sure that you can leave at a reasonable time so you spend a good portion of the evening together - what would be the latest tee time?

If you are golfing now with no issues, then don't screw it up on your 1st anniversary, that's a pretty significiant date IMHO.

That is sage advice. One wrong step here and it will make playing from the back tees in a hurricane seem like a cake walk. If I were you, I'd have a chat with my wife to see how she feels about the matter.

On the 15th anniversary you might survive it.

Spend the day with your wife unless she has potential plans of her own for the day and wants you to be occupied.

My wife suggested that your wife might like to spend the day at the spa while you're golfing, after which you can both go out to a very nice restaurant. Since we will have been married for 40 years this August 15th, while I will be golfing with her approval at Pinehurst with 11 other guys, I'd listen carefully to her suggestion.

I figure its the perfect place to ask. The folks on here have probably made all the mistakes you can imagine. A lot can be learned from their collective experience.

you only have one first anniversary , she may say 'it's ok' but you may also hear about it for a long time to come if you go. As much as I love to golf I love peace of mind more.

    First one

Good move. Hopefully, only ever have one first anniversary, but many more golf tournaments to come. Getting the Mrs. to enjoy the game though is a long term win-win. Happy Anniversary!

But broships can survive almost anything.
