If you think that Tiger Woods is the only pompous, sullen, club throwing foul mouthed golfer on the PGA tour, you most obviously have never been to a tour event. I go every year to the Canadian Open, when it's in the GTA. Club "throwing" and cursing is as common as the air you breathe.

As for the amount of television coverage Tiger gets, I'm pretty sure Tiger doesn't own any of the networks, so it's not his fault. It's what the vast majority of people want to see.

I couldn't care less about his temper, I don't understand why everyone gets in a tizzy over it. The guy is just on camera too much. 80% of the coverage is about him, which is unacceptable to me. I don't buy a single product because of him, matter of fact I don't have a single Nike product in my bag. I'll give him credit for the Nike clothing line though, that's the cat's meow.

I can understand the rest of the thread but the Nike equipment comments are ridiculous. If they make a good product (which by the way they do) you wouldn't play it because of Tiger? I play Nike Blades and Wedges because they are kick ass clubs not because he plays them. These threads are so ing lame.

It never ceases to amaze me how many people take great pleasure in someone else's failures. Obviously Tiger did not have a good week & he has not been a great role model as of late.......but I think when you post a smiley face or a smart ass comment when referring to his misfortunes, it says more about you than Tiger.

I'm saying that Tiger's endorsement of a product means nothing to me. I wouldn't buy Nike equipment JUST because I have a man-crush on Tiger like some.

It was compelling alright, I was on the edge of the seat, I couldn't believe he didn't finish last.

Thank You Dan for making the above statement.
For the person who found the final round of The Open Championship boring.... Apparently watching some great golf, good swings and solid course management are boring to you?
As for Butch Harmon. Tell me, what coach in his right mind would want to get together with Woods right now?
He fired Hank, he fired Butch. He thought he was above and beyond two of the best teaching coaches in the game of golf. He thought he was above and beyond the game of golf. So why would anyone else want to step up and take their place?
I hope Corey Pavin has the smarts to leave him off the Ryder Cup Team. Then again I always cheer for the Euro's so maybe it would be a good thing to have Woods on the US Squad
My opinions are my own, I do not follow others.

I have no problem jumping out and saying that last round was some of the most boring afternoons of golf coverage i've ever seen. No chase whatsoever, no final round heroics, no great golf shots, nada. Cheers to Oost for taking it but man was it ever boring.
Your comment about the coaches is completely ridiculous too, get a grip. Thought he was above and beyond the game of golf??? Christ get real, perhaps it just wasn't working for him anymore?

If I were Butch Harmon, I would most definitely step up and coach Tiger should the opportunity present itself. Why not? If it went well, I would be attributed with turning Tiger's game around - what higher praise could I receive? It it doesn't work out, who would blame me for the failure? In the case of failure, most everyone would agree Tiger is the problem, not me. I don't see how Harmon coud lose to be honest.
I'd love to see Tiger regain his form. If not, it would be a shame to not witness him break Jack's major record . You only get so many chances to see history in the making, and this is one record that will likely stand for a long while if Tiger does not break it.
It's been said a million times in these threads before, but network tv is a capitalistic operation. When it finally becomes less profitable to show Tiger vs. the leaders, they'll show less Tiger. Whether we complain about it or not, money talks.
