    Turning stone vs Tremblant

We are planning a golf trip in the next few weeks, trying to play the best and most magnificent course within 5 hours of Ottawa. I've never played tremblant will I be wowed by it, or is it worth the extra few hours drive to go all the way to Turning Stone?

Has anyone played both of these courses and could compare?

Are there other courses in the US we should consider?

I've played both and would vote for Turning Stone for sure! Casino and three beauty courses, what more could you ask for? Plus the Lava club is rocking on the weekends if you want to party. Everything is right there, no hassles, plus it's a BYOB casino (except for Lava). The courses are outstanding, but Atunyote is very pricey ($235-$250 range) which is ridiculous for any course in this area. The course is pretty quiet which is nice, plus you get a caddy. We go there every year for a golf trip and is highly recommended. Can't go wrong with Tremblant either, but I like Turning Stone way better. Kaluhyat is the toughest course I've ever played... If you spray the ball, kiss it goodbye. Accommodations are pretty cheap at TS, so basically all you are paying for is your golf...

    Have fun!

    Tremblant

I am a student and I live up in Tremblant for the summer. The golf here is really nice, but very mountainous and can be difficult. If you choose to stay here, and you want to make more of a vacation then golf there is tons of stuff to do.
For golfing try out the Le Diable which is always in amazing condition other then the waste bunkers, but with the pick-up and sweep rule there is no problem. Le Geant is more traditional golf course, extremely mountainous lots of elevated tee shots and big rolling fairways. Condition wise Le diable is better then Le Geant because of the rolling fairways it is hard to keep the water well drained, but you get amazing views and some stunning holes. If you play there play from black or double black so you can have fun on those big elevated holes. Don't let hole 4 and 5 get to easily the hardest holes on the course. T
he last course I would go for is La Bete which is $99 with cart in prime time, course is in amazing condition, but you don't get the stunning views that Le Geant offers.

If your making a weekend out of it do Le Diable and Le Geant, it would cost you about $250 to play both courses in the morning.

Or $199 if you buy the package from Costco.

I always have that cardboard pack in my hand when I go to Costco (including tonight) but never seem to pull the trigger. I'm not sure why. One of these days I'll bite the bullet.

Isn't Turning Stone where their playing the "other" PGA tourney this weekend? Looks awesome if it is. I'd play there over Tremblant any day. Not that there is anything wrong with Tremblant (We have an annual boys pilgrimage to play there), but anywhere that has PGA tournaments on it has to be a lot better than what your going to find in Tremblant. Depends on your pocket book I guess.

If you guys decide to go to Turning Stone and decide to maybe venture away from the resort try and play the Seven Oaks golf course at Colgate university. My varsity golf team plays an annual event there and the conditions are GREAT. They have annual us open and us am qualifying there. The greens are like nothing I've ever seen before. And I'm talking fast enough to make smugglers and tremblant look average.... You will have to play it to know how fast these greens actually are.
