Pretty wild if you look at the home page of pgatour.com, and click the Man In The Black Hat thumbnail... it gives the column big prominence. Pretty cool.

Very odd what one guy, a laptop, and big screen tv can do in his basement if he puts his mind to it.

They're the 'monoline' caps... but, the one Rickie wears is the flat brimmed, fitted version... they have them at GT.

Unfortunately that won't go away anytime soon, as it's his Sunday tradition now, a color tip of the cap to his alma mater, Oklahoma State.

They have 3 colors at GT, and only some GT's carry em. I would literally kill for some of the purple/lime stuff they make for Fowler but don't retail!

I hate the orange as well but it gets him noticed and people talking (like us).

I was looking through a sport magazine the other day and noticed PUMA that Rickie wears and said there's the brand that Rickie wears. While it doesn't interest me, it might get some young folks to buy that brand.

It's all marketing and getting noticed.

It's absolutely horrible and I look for my sunglasses when he's on. HDTV is great, but not for Rick. Ah my eyes, da goggles do nuthing.

I interviewed Ryan for a story on chapeaunoirgolf.com back in June... Once the TRUEs hit retail I'll likely do a follow up.

Do you have access to the amount of hits you get on your PGA column? Are they substantial?

Another good one Mike! I like Hoffman's style he wants to be different from most of the other boring Pros. Met him at the Canadian Open a few years ago, nice guy as well signed my volunteer cap.

I haven't had numbers forwarded to me, but there has been very positive feedback from my editor and even tour execs who have been pleased with the reaction to the column from the players themselves. It's been a nice start.
