Local tournament location recommendations???
I'm helping to organize a tournament for our workplace charitable campaign, and someone recommended this site as a good resource for finding a location. Before calling around and trying to finesse dates and times, I was wondering if anyone here might have recommendations or an inside connection for a good course.
We're looking to have a Wednesday or Thursday 144-person shotgun start sometime in mid-late September, a bit short notice but it's all we have to work with. Ideal location would be within a 20-30 minute drive of the Vanier Parkway, with reasonable green fees and lunch meal plans (it is a fundraiser!), and something to offer for both experienced and novice golfers.
Probably a pretty generic set of requirements, but we've had issues in the past with finding a good course so I was hoping for some help from the experts.
You can either reply here, or email directly to ryanpub at mailcan dot com - thanks in advance!Last edited by rbenson; 08-23-2004 at 09:44 AM. Reason: verbosity :)

Try the Meadows, 15 minutes away just down Hawthorn, past Hunt Club. They are geared for that kind of tournament with more flexibility in regards to short notice as they have 36 holes to offer the golfer. Talk with Darryl or tournament rep.

wow
I would have bet they would have been able to help you.
Some of the forum members have been raving about how good Pineview (on Blair road) is doing this year. You might want to read up in the thread on that course.http://forum.ottawagolf.com/showthre...light=pineviewI've spent most of my life golfing .... the rest I've just wasted"

I played Pineview yesterday (last minute) and it was in good shape and they have many tournaments there. Also try Manderley, Edelweiss, Metcalfe and Casselview for tourneys.

I've played in a lot of business related tournaments in the past 6 years, and many of the tournaments have been at the Canadian (which meets your proximity requirements) I have no idea what their book is like for you schedule, but they have an excellent facility for corporate and/or charity tournaments, and the 27 hole course features a very acceptable 18. Some of the holes were re-done in 2002 I think, and its a real improvement. I haven't been there this year, but that place is consistent year after year.
