Living on a golf course
so, do any of you guys live on a golf course? i ask because in 2 weeks i will be! just wondering what to expect.. wife and i just finalized the purchase of a home on one of the regions golf courses. needed a small upgrade in size over what we have now (cookie cutter house in a cookie cutter type neighborhood) but mainly a bigger upgrade in land for privacy purposes, well we found exactly what we wanted and it just so happens that it borders on a golf course so i can walk out my backyard and start playing.. have over an acre as well. seems almost surreal, needless to say im pretty stoked.

Cool...an acre on a golf course. I've often dreamed of doing just that myself. Just curious...how far away are you from a Tee box.....or a green? These would definetly make me think aboout buying or not.

there's a teebox in the back yard.. lots of space between the house and teebox so privacy is not an issue, also quite a number of mature trees on the property line seperating my house and the course. the teebox also shoots away from the house so there's literally 0 danger of anyone hitting the house.

I dont live right on a golf course, but i live right across the road from one. i know if you happen to have any young kids, it is a good way to make great golfers out of them. ive been in a junior program for about 6 years and i have got my handicap lower than most of the members at my course. if you dont have any kids, then it is also a good way to make a great golfer out of yourself.

I can't help but wonder, asuming you have a membership there, if you'll be allowed to just step out on the tee any time you like from your back yard.
Life dinnae come wit gimmies so yuv got nae chance o' gitt'n any from me.

my friends house backs onto a course in Burlington and he has talked to the pro shop and they have no problem with him going out at dusk and playing a few holes provided he doesn't jump in front of anyone. He is not a member there either, but can litterally walk out onto the 14th fairway.
I got a fever. And the only prescription is more golf equipment.

I live behind Kanata golf course. Your probably fine because you have lots of space between you and the golf course so you won't hear the sound of the equipment in the morning preparing the course. Also the crack of the ball when people drive off the tee can get really annoying if you live right behind it. Enjoy yourself though, the staff will probably let you play for free at dusk.
